Not Wilderness Trail Bikes; not fish. :geek:

Looking for a 4-string electric bass guitar. Checking here before I hit the retail market. Reduce, reuse, recycle, eh. No budget in mind, not picky as long as the electronics work and it plays okay or better. Thanks...

Well, as we know... you can tune a guitar, but you can't tuna fish.:cool:

If you find my stolen one on the used market, let me know. You can keep it, but at least I know where it went

Sure, thanks. Maybe it's with the Washburn 6-string acoustic that got pinched out of my truck when I was tucking dollar bills in Lost Wages. :geek: Yo, thief: Thanks for leaving me with $2k worth of climbing and camping gear. Maybe a good reason to keep a Sh!t campfire guitar (decoy) on board away from home. That Washburn was not...

Mine was a cheap P-Bass. But I've had it since I was 13. It was stolen with my XC bike.

No like! A neck you've played for that long, so personal. That Washburn was close to new. I'd be more bummed to lose my original electric, low end as it is. The neck is like musical archaeology. I've had it almost 40 years from new. I try to not get attached to objects, but instruments are like friends – stacking up the good times.

A part of trying to work on my mental health is trying not to get too attached to physical items. Of course, I am not good at it, but trying o_O

That's a great practice. Keep at it, bud. I've spent a life living it down, after being raised to worship things. It's liberating in multiple ways.

The experience – I totally agree. A mere bike? It's an okay bike, but twenty different replacements tomorrow could do the same thing. Are you in love with your climbing shoes, too? They're all just tools to make something meaningful happen, they all wear out, and they're all pretty worthless when not in use... :)

Hey, @mike, I think I found something that would be perfect. It's a bass bass. :D

I have a Gibson Explorer bass. White, with ebony fretboard. It looks funny, but damn the neck plays great and it sounds amazing with the RotoSound roundwounds. It has red stains on the body from my strap.

    Something like this:

I have a small Crate bass amp too.

    Interested?

TFPU. From what little I know that's a good instrument. Probably a good deal more axe than I deserve since I'm not a bassist. But, please tell me if it has a case. :)

My buddy who was an actual gigging bassist told me to get a used 200 or 300 series Ibanez, that it's good enough for my purpose without being junk. There are scores of used ones barely over a hundred bucks and up, so that could be quite painless.

Chris, I'm trying to save space and be digital so would not need an amp, fwiw. :)

Chris and I agreed that his sweet classic might not be best for my needs. Under other conditions...

I almost certainly will grab one of the myriad used low-end Ibanez I saw online. I've never owned a bass and tried to play one just a few times. As I'm learning, anything can be fixed digitally. So I'll have to leverage existing skills to a degree. Without the music proj things might be pretty grim in BFE...

My first two basses were Ibanez. They are great do-everything, inexpensive instruments. Have fun!
