Who's Riding Where???

I'm gonna ride in a big squishy sorta-circle around Redlands. On skinnyish tires. With one gear.

 

Exactly. Where we are thinking of riding, or are planning to ride on short notice - when we don't want to post a trailhead official ride. Sort of an "I'm riding here at this time. Join me if you want."

 

And all this time I thought it was more like "I'd really like to ride here, maybe I'll do that, and I don't want to be bothered meeting any of you."

 

Heading out to Havasu tomorrow morning for Spring Break. Planning to hit SARA Park a few times and maybe truck on up to Kingman to hit Monolith Garden with a local friend or two...

I'm meeting @Danimal at 8:30 at Ridge Park drive (Coastal Peaks Park) to do a lap or two in Laguna Coast WP. I am guessing we will not be hitting anything challenging - probably just a Lizard, Camarillo, StageCoach, Willow, Fenceline loop. Join us if you want.

 

It's the perfect "work around" thread for guys like @rossage who for whatever reason can't handle some minor structure in their life like over on Trailheads.....

After breaking my collarbone, I put my stationary bike out in the back yard and logged a bunch of miles looking at the view (behind me in the avatar photo). Or maybe you can set up in front of a monitor and watch mtb videos?

In the meantime, just turning those pedals will feel good and aid recovery.

 

It's all too early to tell. I'm waiting for this coming Tuesday to even find out what the recovery plan even looks like...
If they say, "Rebreak to set some bones", ( since I'm thinking there plan is taking too long to unfold), then heads are going to roll..

 

South Fork to Devils Punchbowl, and then beyond

 

Sunday morning 3/19/17. Aliso chunk if someone will chunk with me without killing me with pace, miles and vft. (Can't hang with Strand and the boys' Sunday morning rides - too burly for me). Otherwise maybe Whiting-OC-Luge-Whiting, I know, I know - same ol' stuff. But it's pretty good stuff!!!!

Looks like it's a mundane Whiting-Luge Whiting run - maybe some extra credit up STT further. 8:30 meet time at Wahoos (Glenn Ranch and Portola).

Most of the chunk-lovers pound out big rides - 3000-5000' of climbing or more on a killer pace and hit like 5 or 8 chunky, steep trails per outing. I can't hang with that. So I either do my own thing or ride with people who don't enjoy Car Wreck, Stairs, T and A or Art School.

 

Sounds fun but I'm still out of commission. Hope you score.

Thanks for the invite guys but my allergies are driving me nuts this Spring. I am having a hard time breathing deeply. I should avoid higher elevation rides.

I think I need to stay around the Santa Monicas and lower areas of the San Gabes for the time being.

 

I was invited to an MTB ride with a guy that does 2-3 centuries and a couple of 40-50 mile MTB rides a week. No details other than a meet point in Santa Clarita at 9am. Wish me luck.

 

I got my bike back today, and I have riding date tomorrow. Agog with exzitement!

 

I bet the guy sleeps on his bike, balanced perfectly (track stand) upright through the night in a tucked/racing downhill position. Sheeeshhhh

I never made it out on two wheels yesterday. Shame, shame.

However, my work day ends in West Hills today and I am seriously thinking about taking my bike with me to ride out that-a-way afterward. Perhaps a Las Llajas/Rocky Peak/Chumash loop is in order?

"MILF"? What's the story behind naming a trail "MILF"???

 

It's not a trail, it's a poorly nicknamed park. Canyon View Park in Aliso Viejo. I rarely see anything MILF-like there, but I often see such creatures on the trails nearby, including a phenomenal specimen last Saturday who gave me a hug!
