What Are You Doing Differently?

No comment... But 6 stores in about 14 minutes the other day.

Wife and I rode a trail this AM, that is very isolated since she has an 89 yo mother that she's helping take care of; saw a few hikers that seemed to materialize instantly when she had to pee, but only one other bike. Quite a neat trail (one of three that I'm secretive about since I've seen fewer that five other individuals total on them over a 15 year period). Usually never ride them on weekends because we're at CHSP or some other venue..

 

This thread has pretty much run its course, but I'm becoming more isolated as the situation deteriorates. Hate it, but don't like the alternative.

 

I just realized I have been cutting my rides short this week as Jennifer is working from home and can usually log out by noon. Other than that it has been status quo for us.

 

Going to bed later. Sleeping later. I don't have to get up, get ready and commute so I can get up at 7:30 instead of 5:15.

 

What is UPS doing differently????

 

Sadly not much. They supplied us with hand sanitizer and the union gave us a pair of latex gloves a couple of weeks ago. 60 hour workweeks with no helpers. Our loads are shite on top of that. It's ridiculous.

 

Umm, I think I see my package at the bottom of that pile and it's partially crushed. Where do I file a damaged item claim?

 

I am going to construct a new rider's cap today for added protection.

 

Still working (fire dept). I thought I would be getting more time in the garage and being able to work on stuff, but the opposite has been true. Other than working, entertaining the kids. Wife is WFH and on top of that, handling school during the day for my 6 year old. Not to complain about 1st world problems, but my wife's bday is Sunday, mine is later this month and we had a huge Whistler fam vacation that will most likely not happen in July.

I'm just trying to be diligent about washing my hands, but other than that, we really haven't left out house besides bike rides and walks around the neighborhood. Occasional chats with neighbors at a comfortable distance. Sort of odd going to the store all the time and just trying to get what you can get, although this last weekend a lot of variety has come in, I think suppliers are catching up. Usually for us, weekend shopping trips/Costco/etc are family things, but lately they have just been solo missions.

Also been playing an obscene amount of XBox. Kinda nice actually to just zone out and still be able to BS with a bunch of my buddies and chit chat.

 

Staying home a lot.
Not even going for walks round the block....

Got out the first and song books for the first time in a long time....


Spending way more with kid....

Me too! Until I smashed my hand into the dirt last Sunday. Luckily, nothing broken, just a little too swollen to make a "C". Barre chords FTW!

Two big things come to mind that I am doing differently:

1) I'm having to hold my pee for long spells because restrooms everywhere are closed in businesses that are still open.
2) I'm not using my brake pedal at all on the freeway.

 

No haircuts
No Shaving
Paying inflated grocery delivery prices
Saving tons from not going out for dinners, drinks, get-togethers
Missing the lady who comes to do the house cleaning
Parents calling every day

I've driven my car once in three weeks. Thinking about calling AAA to cancel all but one car for a bit. Especially the kid's that bumps us into the $5k a year range.

Okay, Shaving a lot less.

 

I had to put non-organic cream in my coffee this morning. It is the end of days.

So what you're saying is that there actually is a difference between ghetto cows who drink Jack Daniels and eat Taco Bell and organically maintained cows who drink natural spring water and eat wild grasses?

That, or I'm a victim of marketing. Organic does just make sense to me, so that's what I get whenever possible.

I am having to use all the drive thru's instead of going into my different lunch stops.

 

If only my package car fit through the drive thru.

 

Give it a try. What's the worst that can happen, you'll be driving a convertible.

 

Can you not order online or ahead of time and have your order brought out to you in the parking lot? Most places now have specific parking for called in orders.

That, or the drive through area would become substantially wider and taller.

 

We started using a large Brita for the time being....

No more running to fill up water bottles for a little while.....

I miss my reverse osmosis water already...
