VT got a new GoPro

OK so Kokopelli is coming up quick and I needed a way do document it. Thanks to Sport Chalet's misfortunes and some additional action pass points I scored a new Hero Session 4 for $166 OTD a couple days ago.

This camera was purchased at about 4:15 and I was on the bike filming about 30 minutes later thanks to the fact that my Bell Super helmet has a GoPro mount.

I know helmet mounts aren't the greatest. I know the camera wasn't even pointed correctly. I know the video is too darn long (but the very end is worth it). I now know this whole video thing is a long & painful process. I know I've consumed quite a few beers trying to figure this stuff out. I know I haven't slept much the last couple nights. I know my editing skills are lousy and my riding skills aren't much better but heres what I came up with. Heck I'm not even sure how to post a video here but here goes...

 

OK I'm totally new to this so WTH happened to the cool "smokey & the bandit" theme song my original video has and why does my original video look so much better than this youtube one??? Mikie I need some help...

 

When you upload, the video is usually available at lower quality immediately, but it takes a few minutes or longer to be able to access it at HD resolutions. Is that the issue?

I saw it in pretty high quality... Nicer than my hero 3 can produce. But there was the sound of heavy breathing throughout the video... I learned how to remove the soundtrack in Final Cut just for that.

 

Heck I don't know. The issue is my original video had a song playing that covered up some of my heavy breathing but when I posted it on YouTube the song is gone.

 

Use Vimeo. YouTube sucks because they think they are the soundtrack nazi's for music copyrights.

What did you do with the lizard?

Nice job. I've never seen someone go from the store to the trail with zero GoPro experience before and come up with something that good. I liked it without a Smokey and the Bandit soundtrack - and yes, YouTube will strip most copyrighted music.

Also - that's a pretty nice trail to have outside your door.

 

YouTube enforces copyrights... just a matter of life. Vimeo is less aggressive with enforcement, however, any material that you do not create and own, is subject to enforcement regardless of platform.

YouTube will remove your audio if it's in violation of the publisher's wishes.

YouTube does offer a huge library of music that is royalty free and can be used and monetized. Depending on the asset, sometimes just turning off monetization solved the problem.

I'm jealous. My commute looks NOTHING like that.

If only everyone's commute was like that we'd have happier people.

 

I know this has been out a while but what can I say I'm late to the party. Those looked like some fun trails to ride out your door.

 

Missed it first go round. Fun vid enjoyed watching it, and you never did say what you did with the lizard

 

Lizard was gone when I got inside. Dog took care of it...
