thanksgiving ride

Staying local gonna put in a few laps of Tapia meeting @ rec center 9am, I know some other people showing up should be a good group

 

I wish you were closer. Haven't committed to anything yet.

 

7am, Mt Lukens starting from the Grizzly trailhead. Out and back on fireroad. About 2000 ft climb, 14 miles. Great views. Gonna be cold and probably windy.

 

I'll be riding the Turkey tomorrow morning around 5am, cooking dinner with my kids to take over to my parents house(it's pay back time for me) hope you all have goods rides! carry on...

 

Riding Chaney trail up to Inspiration OR Mt. Wilson depending on how fast we are moving (need to bail around noon). We are meeting @ Loma Alta/Chaney trail around 745 if anyone is looking for a ride.

Laguna. I will ride up to top of the world at 6:15. Park to Park adventure (meaning both sides of the canyon). 5 or so hours. 6,000 feet or so of climbing. Brisk pace. Fun.

 

I think you will fit in here just fine. Just ask @herzalot

 

This sounds awesome! I would love to try this with you at some point - or at least some of it. I can only manage about 3000-3500' of climbing right now before I cramp, but I know how to get back to my car. I have to leave for Turkey day festivities at noon, and chores before, so I won't join you tomorrow. I am looking forward to hitting some of the more challenging local trails through the winter season, conditions permitting.

If I do get out tomorrow, It'll be shorter, less intense and on the ordinary trails. 7:30-9:30 ish. If you see a tall guy draped over a blue Knolly, laugh at me and say hi as you wizz by.

 

You must have swallowed too much seawater, there's no such thing as fun in brisk pace.

 

I'll try and join you, if I can rouse myself at an early enough hour!

 

Road ride for me, my Son and the LBS owner are joining in. Then off to Red Mountain for some dirt bike adventures. Chunky chunky chunky!

 

It'll be mid-40s when the sun comes up...for us OC folk anyway. Some of youse other guys may see sub-30 degrees. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Wasn't going to ride today but now I may just have to...

 

Such an amazing morning. I wore a jacket!! I rode from 615 to 1130 and never took it off. I stayed on the south side and tried to ride every trail. I missed car wreck.... And by the time I realized it, I was on Aliso Rim and my wife was texting me about a long walk on the beach before festivities. As a 27 year veteran of marriage, I pulled the pin, rode off the rim (through a nutty cactus garden) and road over to and up skyline home. 5,000 feet, 36 miles. Fueled by Tailwind, and tailwind only. Amazing stuff.
