This video makes me want to get out there and ride one of these things! Of course I would have to pedal it up hill, and that's a whole other story... :)
Real nice and well put together trailer, worth checking out:

Very cool video. I'm thinking a fat tire bike might be my next purchase.

Have you ever ridden one? They actually pedal surprisingly well. I rode a Surly (I forgot which model) and thought it actually felt zippy and really fun to ride. My buddy who has a Foes fat tire says it's the best bike he's owned.

No, never actually been on one, but VERY intrigued by them. A B+ really sounds great to me though. More than a full fat bike, A B+ conversion on a 29er frame just sounds like a BLAST. I don't think my bike could quite fit them though, toying around with getting an El Mariachi for just that option!

I'm not sure if you're saying you want a fat 29r but if you are, the one that I tried I really didn't like. To me it handled like a bus. But then again, I'm not a big fan of how normal 29rs handle either, so if you do, you might like it.

There is plenty of sand around the Redlands Airport and Mentone to make it fun.

No, not a fat 29er. But put a 27.5X3.0 tire on a 29er frame that could fit it (like the Mariachi) sounds like it could be a bit of fun!

Hey, I was just out there today! I couldn't make the Hell Ride which bummed me to no end, was able to instead bang around out in the river bed. I actually did most of it with a 2.25" tire, so a 3" would cruise nicely! 4" would be perfect!

I have never ever considered a fat bike. That video does open my eyes some. I more on the fence than I have ever been. Still love my traditional 26'er more than anything else...

Saw a fatbike headed up Black Star yesterday as I was headed down. Looked like a lot of work...

It might not be the best bike for your XC excursion. When I tried one, it was in a riverbed. Perhaps it's all relative to the terrain.

Horses for courses and all that... it wouldn't be my only bike! :) But riding in the river bed, or sandy trails, would be a blast. As I mentioned, the B+ size (27.5X3") really intrigues me. Seems like that would let you go most anywhere you want without an absurd weight penalty for the wheels.

I would love to have one for my location! Good mountainage for my 26er, and lotsa sand washes for miles in either direction, best of both worlds really, I really don't know why I don't have one? Maybe it's a money thing.

Exactly. If money were no object, I'd have one. But the type of riding I do doesn't lend itself to the fatbike for the whole ride.

Yeah, I saw you standing on the side of the road, by the singletrack off of garnet heading towards Hanger24.

Hey, that was me! I was trying my best to direct riders to that last bit of singletrack. A BUNCH of them were having nothing to do with it and heading over to Hwy 38 to ride back to Hangar. That's one of my favorite little bits of dirt, so couldn't imagine they would want to miss it!!!

I couldn't save every starfish, but I did save some!

Not exactly the same, but I have ridden and raced the Trek, Stache 7 a couple of times. My take away was that if someone is willing to buy a bike based on the fun factor, they should consider a fat or plus size tire.

Is that the fat 29r? If so, what are your thoughts on its handling?
