    Here is the short story:
I ended up "buying" a Niner SIR 9 frame on Saturday.

...... and I'm not sure what's my next move.

Your CC single speed rig? Steel would be nice and comfy on Motorway and Holy Jim...

Love those frames, by the way...

Yup...Only logical option is SS. Build it a up light to offset the extra weight in the frame. Run the longest fork that is allowed.

    The long story:

As I mentioned before my 9-year-old son "loves" Aaron Gwin.
We watched all his races on RedBull TV, and my son can't sit down during AG's runs (some standing, but mostly bouncing).

Somehow I found out (on facebook I think) the AG is going to be in Riverside for a benefit ride.
I ask my son if he would want to go (hoping he will say no), and we ended up going on a father/son outing to meet AG.

    The turn out was impressive.
Aaron was as nice as advertise, and my son was so impressed that a world cup champ was willing to talk to him :) (and sign his shirt)

Before we took off we bought $40 worth of raffle ticket.
After the ride, the good people @ Jenson USA fed us.
I was contemplating leaving, but my son wanted to stay for the raffle.
    I'm glad he convinced me.......

"We" won a DVO fork (of our choice), and I know that they don't make 24" forks!

So after the excitement of winning a pricey fork, I felt obligated to bid on the frame they were actioning off (it was a good cause).
I ended up "winning" the auction, and now I need to figure out what's my next move.

When I got home I did some research on the SIR9, and I realized that this bike is very similar to my Why S7.

(it will make a hell of an SS bike)

I was planning on going to that, though only for the fundraiser part (I was going to ride solo, the big groups are a mess out there). But I had to fix the roof on the horse shelter. Oh, yeah, and build another rear wheel for the MTB I would have ridden...

Haha...That was me bidding against you for the frame. You should have given me the IMTB signal, so I would stop upping the price. Congrats on the build man. That frame looks sweet.

Not sure what's next other than the obvious - but don't put that DVO fork on there!

The only real question is what goes better with this color scheme. Green or Black?

I was going to stop @ $400, but the fact that I got the fork made me continue raising the bid. I stopped at the absolute max number.

Looks like a nice bikepacker to me – rack eyelets be damned.

Elementary color theory establishes that basic hues of green juxtaposed with with orange result in human nausea.
