New fire in Big Bear area?

So as Heart Attack Matt and Wrong Way Winters were shuttling back up to Heart Bar, Matt saw a fire starting up on the side of the mountain across the canyon to the north from Hwy 38. By the time he was coming back down, there was already a helicopter over the fire.

That’s all I know....sorry.

Nothing on calfire or inciweb yet. Big bear FD said Barton flats on Facebook. Fingers crossed that it’s minor. Was planning on maybe riding wildhorse on wed...goddammit

At least there will always be a thrill to be had entering left turn lanes and bypassing right turn pockets in the concrete forest. A 25mph peloton can be fun. This is coming from the perspective of a guy who rode MTB 5 of 7 days and hasn’t touched one in the last 20.

 

Maybe we should just have a Fire Thread, not saying I like it, I hate it. But man the fires are like crazy this year!

 

If there were a fire at/near Big Bear on Saturday, it was no longer there on Sunday.
