    Big. Beeeyoootiful, Badass Bike! Congrats!

Now you have a me problem - a bike built for gnar and a bike built for almost everything else that can also handle gnar. A bit more separation from the Izzo to the Jeffsy than the Rail (mullet) to the SB 137? Discuss.

My bikes overlap some. Both are designed to climb well but the Izzo wins there. Both are designed to descend well but the Jeffsy wins there. For me, it comes down to what I like to do most on a bike and that's CLIMB. So the Izzo will get more use. I'll ride the Jeffsy more for a while so that I can get to know it.

Between your two bikes, which rear suspension design do you prefer?

That's a nice bike SnakeCharmer! Take good care of it no scratches and all because I want to be second owner! The seat tube looks steep to my eyes. I think you'll find it does a great job of climbing. Let'r rip!

Great question. I will need to get back on my Rail now that I've done a dozen or so rides on the SB. I'm thinking the Rail wins for uphill traction in chunk, and also has the edge on gnarlier downs. But the overall handling of the SB is sublime. Hard to explain. The Yeti is definitely a more eager climber on fire roads.

I need to test the SB on uphill chunk to confirm my suspicions, and I need to get back on the Rail the day after riding the Yeti (or even the same day) to get a more accurate comparison on the downs. Frankly, I'm embarrassed that I own both.

I take the guess work out of my stable of bikes.
There is the hardtail SS for the pain of it all.
There is the Anthem ( as old as it is. Triple rings for the win) for the extended cross country rides.
There is the Beast for the chunk with some climbing to get to the fun stuff.

There is no overlap on any of these bikes for thier intended purpose. I do ride them on some of the same trails, but not at the same pace and flow.
Taking the SS down 007 is a hoot, slow, and it tires me out, more than the Beast, trying to pick the smoothest lines.

Perhaps not bike overlap, but most certainly trail overlap if you're riding diff bikes on the same trail. :)

Oh - @SnakeCharmer I forgot to share this with you, now that you've met Jeffsy. Stay with it all the way, if you haven't seen it before. And if you don't know who Christopher Walken is a.) Shame on you and b.) I'm not surprised. Look him up first if you don't know who he is.

This is old, so all ten of you who will view this post have probably seen it before.

I appreciate your affinity for boutique brands. I myself don’t buy bikes from brands who have a roadie division. Too many great MtB only brands!

But I worry about this choice as it is simple single pivot with no flex stays or rear pivots whatsoever. Dartmoor has been around a while, but I’ve never seen one. I’ve been up Dartmoor road / trail if that counts.

    I hope it’s awesome!

I’m ok with single pivot for that price haha. Had a heckler and a bullit. I see it as a modern version of that. It’s for my backup bike, switching parts over from my ancient 650b converted transition blindside, but will need a new shock. Topaz, probably
Not sure dartmoor counts as boutique haha
And yes first ride must be up dartmoor!

Perhaps build it as a mullet. What is the head angle as a 27.5? 65°?

But if you don't - I have a spare 27.5" front wheel and 170mm Rock Shox Lyric that you could either use for a while to see how you like it or make me an offer. I don't know if I will ever ride the Revel as a full 27.5 ever again, so I hate for that perfectly good fork to just sit in storage.

Warning - @tbarnesarc borrowed it for a few rides, so you'll have to exorcise it! (J/K Love ya Taylor!)

Ha, another reason i snapped up a full 27.5 frame on the cheap is that it seems like soon all frames will be mullet if not full 29 and id have to get a new fork and at least one new wheel on top of a pricier new frame. Besides i like all 27.5. Dropped some coin into customizing my Yari with a smashpot and a Fast damper.
but my other fork is an old worn out MRP Ribbon so maybe ill take you up on that! hope you heal up quick and are riding again soon

The extremely low rear tire pressure would just be an added bonus. Might help create added hikes.

Well, not yet and maybe not ever, but I've found myself thinking about replacing my 2015 Giant XTC Carbon Magic Bike.

Okay, the XTC part is accurate, as is carbon and Giant, but the rest isn't. But dang it's been fun.

Now that I'm retired, and have even more money to waste, I've been thinking about this:

    my23_honzo_esd.jpg
Kona Honzo ESD. Steel frame. I will probably dither until it's no longer available. My hesitation is with the utterly incompatible (with my existing stuff) hub spacing, and the 1x fixation. I will have to investigate if I could replace the worthless 1x12 with a realistic and adequate and useable 2x11. And why would I want the dropper?

These things are fun to contemplate. I must look into this.

Runs, just get a new bike that you like and realize that there is no compatibility and every couple of years everything changes, even if you don't.

Already swapped the Suntour 50 coil for an RST F1rst Air with 60mm of damped travel, lockout, and rebound adjust. The 2.4x24” CST All Terrains tires measure a healthy 2.45”. These tires definitely are not from the Maxxis factory.
