Mountain biking and martial arts

Mountain biking has always been something of interest to me, ever since my dad introduced me to it when I was 11 or 12. Of course, then high school hit and I started wrestling on my high school team.

I was always riding a bike, often pedaling to the Metrolink train and pedaling to my office. I picked up mountain biking again with my friend Mike, who moved away from Southern California and then my friend Matt who also moved away from Southern California (only to return again). And then I took a little break from mountain biking, and mostly filled up my hobby time with learning the art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, which was particularly fun with a high-school grappling background.

And about 1 year and half ago I’ve resumed mountain biking quite regularly, especially since martial arts had to be temporarily tabled. Seems like other guys in my gym have also picked up mountain biking. I’m now trying to maintain both hobbies.

Any other martial arts or jiu-jitsu practitioners here?

I ride with a couple of guys that look like gracie..
they ride with NO fear... relatively new riders that can out ride me already..
both are owner/instructors at a gracie gym (from Brazil )

 

Mtbing has been very good for my marriage.

 

I practiced that for 20 years until I go KO'ed.

 

Does watching Kobra Kai count?

Always wanted to get involved in martial arts. I started, but had trouble making time. Lol, like everything else I do. Filipino martial arts and judo. Lol, my grandma always told me I would be good in judo. I think she was just telling me I'm fat I looove watching me some kung fu though!!!
