I'm looking for a handlebar to give me more grip options. My hands are constantly going to sleep when I ride and it seems like a bar that's more swept back would do the trick.

Anybody have any experience with the Jones H-bar?

I have them on 3 of my bikes, 2 loops and one bend bar.
Love them for the two reasons than made look them up. Multi hand position and the nice swept back. Been running then for about 3+ years. I'd probably have a hard time going back to straight handle bars now.

I have one on my bike packing bike. Great for that. my only complaint is there less "feel" for technical handling I guess as I would describe it. I just feel more comfortable maneuvering the bike with a much less sweep. but for climbing and multi positions, it is great.

I'm glad bars like that exist, because it is good to have options, but I can't deal with that back sweep. Makes me feel like I'm on a beach cruiser. Give me Renthals and their shallow sweep!

Seems like they'd be nice for storage on a bikepacking trip, though.

It's got to make it easier on the wrists. Straight "handlebars" are tough on mine. Most likely why Ergon grips are becoming popular.

The bars. Meet two purposes. Easier on the wrists and, you can devine for underground water... Sorry, I just had to...

Given the popularity of bars like this, and the absurd angle of most motorcycle grips, I'd say a significant portion of the population likes that deeper angle better. It's excruciating for me; painfully stretching the inside of the wrist and kinking the outside.
I bet it's a lot like running with the various angles of pronation that different folks are comfortable with.

Agreed. I think many people do not fully understand the reason for different degree sweeps of handlebars. The "H" bars above sweep way too much for me, but straight handlebars are the same affect in the opposite direction. I think 5 to 10 degree's fit me best for example. YMMV...

Op. Go to (alternative or "alt" mountain bike handlebar round up) it comes up at oldglorymtb.com. It's a list of popular bars without the crazy contraption stuff. At minimum it's interesting to check out. Luck
