Stats including cycling, mtb, hiking and running. This is surprising considering all the downtime after the knee issues.

I think your next bike should be really heavy. Don't get any carbon at all, and shoot for at least 34 pounds...

I used to log my rides, I used to use an odometer, I used to have have an altimeter on my handle bars. I still have lamps on my bars. Now I just ride. I try to get in 6 days a week which is a lofty goal that I rarely achieve. But I feel good when I do. This winter is going to be tough since it seems we are receiving much more rain than the last couple years.
So; happy trails to all this New Years Eve, and 2020 vision to you when you are dropping the big hills

 

Road or trails count, but I almost never ride the skinny tires and compete with steel boxes on wheels.

 

Had some great times this year.

Some of the most memorable/favorites for me:
Riding the beach cruiser on the Skyline hooligan ride.
San Gabriel epic with Vince, more than 50mi/11,000'.
Northstar Bike Park Lake Tahoe. Can't wait to go back omg!
Palm Springs, G.E. Cannell Plunge and any ride with the Bomb Squad.
The recent snow ride will be remembered for a long time.

There were some downers:
Hard OTB crash on the Floop of all places. That one hurt. Looking back, I now think that had something to do with the pinched nerve which kept me from normal riding in October.
Vince being a teenager...
Thursday night Floop rides were almost not happening. Some of our Floop friends have turned into roadies.

Stats are down from previous years as expected. 1800mi/259,000'. At least I didn't run anyone over this year.

The Loop abides...

 

Interesting year for me. Ups and downs. Cycling only:
Broken foot New Year's Day. Focused on healing and recovery, made a great and fast comeback.

Race season didn't go to plan. The race calendar just wasn't doable, so I missed that goal.

Great Grizzly 100. Really happy with that.

Met my WW50 goal...barely.

Spent a lot of time in Big Bear, camping and riding.

Trip to San Francisco and rode some good stuff.

First trip to Mammoth, loved it.

First trip to Hurricane Utah, loved it

First trip to Sedona, poor conditions, but loved it.

Race bike was stolen, not sure what I'm going to do about it. I had XCM plans for 2020.

Personal life was a clusterfuck. But that's another story.

 

Good to hear from you, Josh. But I don't like the stolen bike nor the sounds of your last comment. Wishing you the best for 2020!

 

Poor life choices piled on top of long standing depression issues are a bad combo. I hit a low point a little while back, things are slowly going up now.
