I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Snowmaggedon has been real and ALL the trails are currently unrideable! Even BDOS which is a low elevation spot perfect for winter riding. Half a foot of snow still on the ground and lots of trees and branches covering the trails that could not handle the weight of the snow and ice. Did get out with my saw to clear the trails and thats what I'll be doing this weekend as well. I'm gettin' a little stir crazy not riding and I don't do trainers!

Thanks for cleaning up the trails, Cisco. That will be one hell of a job. Wet snow fell in OC a few New Years ago and the forest carnage was unreal. Be safe pal.

There is a bunch of sickos out there. I know someone else with this flu and a set of clients of mine flew home from New York on a jet full of sick people and now they are sick, too.

 

Yesterday morning dawned bright and clear. Looked like a good day to build a new bike...

Until my wife found an antique kitchen buffet/sideboard for sale on Craigslist. Slight complication - it was in Bakersfield.

So yesterday I did an out and back to Bakersfield to pick up a big piece of furniture. Six hours of driving in heavy traffic

 

Sucks.....but did the new bike get built?

 

Wheels got laced, and that was about it. I was working out in the garage when my wife came running out with a laptop showing Craigslist Bakersfield... and things went downhill from there. Not really - we had a good time and it is something we wouldn't normally do. But by the time I got home it was dark, and we still had to muscle the sideboard into the kitchen. I just had enough energy left for some 12 oz. curls

Worst thing... we had dinner plans last night and we forgot about them until our friends called from the restaurant wondering where we were.

When the wind kicked up, yep....14° high, -6° wind chill. No bad weather, only bad gear, as you guys know well...we had to shed layers. Broke trail the whole way, nobody seen. And, no rattlers.

Didn't he get TWO new bikes recently? I know one of them was out of the required IMTB conformity, but he also bought an interesting bike before that.
