HOCKEY IS BACK!!!!!

First game of the playoff qualifiers is Saturday @ 10am. The greatest team ever New York Rangers face off against Carolina Huricanes. Be sure to tune in, nothing beats playoff hockey.

And, most importantly none of the players will be taking a knee during the national anthems!

Yea...not even for the foreign anthem. Of course the hottest team in the league prior to suspending the season still didn't make the playoffs, but at least we got the number 2 pick for next season.

Man have I lost touch with hockey. My wife’s company had Ducks season tickets in ‘07, and we were the only ones who wanted them. 20 rows back at the Stanley Cup finals kind of spoiled me for paying for sports tickets.

The only Kings game I’ve been to was 1986–Marcel Dionne, Bernie Nicholls, and Jim Fox. What I mostly remember was the chants of “Gretzky sucks!” as he tapped the puck into the empty net for a hat trick.

 

All you guys yelling up there may have triggered an AVALANCHE!!!!!

I saw an early season Ducks game. How many years ago was that?

 

Let's see how many games they play. You've seen what 's happening with baseball right? Team sports probably not going to succeed with this virus unfortunately.

 

Soccer has done fine—both the US men’s and women’s leagues drove their infection rates to zero after rough starts. The NHL approach is closer to the “bubble” used by soccer and the NBA than it is to the approach used by baseball, which is set up like the euro soccer leagues. Unfortunately for the Marlins all their players go home after work to Miami, not Wolfsburg or Bremen.

The NHL will be fine... All the games are being played in Canada (@Mikie homeland). So, there is no heavily wide spread fear... you know eh?

Hockey fans of any team other than THE RANGERS, sorry I just can't like any of your posts. It goes directly against having any sort of team loyalty. I do however, appreciate any post hockey related.

Do a bit of research and you'll find out the NHL has created a "bubble" atmosphere for all the teams/staff involved in the tournament. One fact I do know is that all players who entered the bubble had to have 3 negative Covid tests in the last 48 hours before they traveled to Canada. I am a hockey nut, but from the pro sports I've watched/followed thus far, the NHL seems to have the most robust plan for keeping their players Covid free. All players are essentially quaranteened with their teammates for the duration of the tournament and cannot see their family/friends. But we'll have to wait and see what happens if/when an NHL player tests positive.

 

I couldn't imagine. That must be difficult to deal with. Stay strong!

We watch game 7s and games tied going into the 3rd... Even wife starts yelling... No particular team but we did love the Kopitar run for the cup (LA Teams)

 

Hockey is running two bubbles in two cities, and their bubbles aren’t in freaking Florida, but yes. It’s the same thing. After having to kick Nashville and Dallas out of the bubble with a ton of positives, MLS hasn’t had a positive case in 19 days.

Baseball should probably follow their lead. Find a town with a big sports park with a bunch of pro size outfields and live in the bubble.
