  9. As an old school apple fan, I got to say there are some more recent iphone software things that I am not a fan of, and I think apple has some growing up to do on how cloud data is used and managed. The costs of the devices is becoming a concern. Still though, there is just no android phone I have seen that comes close to the performance and integrates into my life the way Apple does.

I have a habit of interviewing most android phone user I know about their use habits, Because I really do want to save money and get off the APPLE system, IF and only if I can see better performance. But really the only consistent benefit over an iphone I ever hear reported back is "but this x model android is x less$$$ money than the iphone" Nothing ever about better performance, or other lifestyle enhancing features, only raves about how affordable they are.

  10. Anyone tired the new cell service venture from John Paul Dejoria? If it's as good as his Hair care products and Tequila it must be good:

Android does the same thing, but cheaper...

Perfectly good reason to eschew Apple. :geek:

So I got the phone this morning and inserted my SIM card. It said 2G at first...then after a few mins...it switched to 4G. Shouldn't it say "LTE"?. I'm thinking 4G is T-Mo's way of saying HSPA+. I was able to watch 720p videos on Youtube.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to hearing how this works out. Xiaomi and Huawei have some great products and it would be good to have some more competition in the polarized smartphone market

You probably need to root the phone. Read there is a software issue not forcing to LTE bands. Once rooted it may just connect to LTE bands or give you ability to force accept the LTE bands.

Google and the phone companies take an absolutely free product, make modifications, and then charge you handsomely for it. If you had stumbled on Android much earlier in its life cycle, this is the kind of thing you would protest against. :whistling:

What does that mean with regards to cellphones? I just want my phone to be a phone and maybe a decent point and shoot camera, is there more? haha

    You shouldn't be on HSPA+.

Check your settings and make sure VoLTE is enabled. It should be enabled by default. Both your device and T-Mobile 4G Band4 support VoLTE (which is faster than HSPA+, and offers benefits versus standard LTE, including HD voice calling and seamless Wi-Fi call switching). Not sure what the phone interface will show when it is active... they don't have a phone manual PDF up on their site. Check your user manual :)

Nevermind I found a PDF online. "4G" in the top bar means "4G/LTE". "H+" means "HSPA+".

It doesn't specifically call out VoLTE so I would assume if it is enabled in your options, it is enabled.
