    Hi there

Found this forum as I had some questions regarding gear so I might as well let you see how we ride in Cambodia. Monsoon season is here so there is a good chance to get hit by some big showers in the afternoon. Its not all bad though as its a nice change from the dusty red roads in hot season and its basically like riding through a hot shower. The drawback of rain is that on some of these red clay roads your bike clogs up with mud and its impossible to pedal through it. The red clay is slippery as fxxx and you will end up carrying your bike out to a hard surfaced road.
Not an abundance of single tracks here but instead lots of rural dirt roads to discover. The good thing about living in Phnom Penh is that you just have to cross the Mekong and you are out dirt roads immediately. Things are being developed rapidly in this part of the World, but since there is still no bridge crossing the Mekong near Phnom Penh, its still very quiet with lots of dirt roads just on the other side.

Didn't notice this the first time... but what I initially took for a water bottle is a can of spray paint(?)!

    Welcome @Ronni !
Thanks for the photos, nice to see the area.

When it rains here in Orange County ( not too often though) we get the same type of evil soil that will stick to the tires and bike, and bring it to a stop. Carrying it out with an extra 10 Kilos of mud stuck to it sucks.
Looking forward to hearing some more from Cambodia!

Welcome, we hope you hang around and contribute some awesome, mud-filled rides!!!

All I can say about riding in the southeast Asian climate is "better you than me." That's some serious humidity there.
