My crash last night split my knee open....not gonna be able to make the ride. My ride compadre's decided to reschedule to another time.

 

Sorry to hear J. If rescheduling to another time means after the first of the year then count me in. If there's room of course.

Things can change so quickly.

I rode a 10 miler on the bike path with my wife yesterday and my leg felt good. Thought I could get in a mtn cruiser this am.
Leg is not having it. The cut is healing fine but I can't put anything over it heavier than the bandage. Started to throb as I was getting ready.
Watching some "boring" TV instead...

I'm thinking more like he has 4 days... maybe two.

Yeah, it's coming... just pro-longing the inevitable...

 

Yeah. I got them at the Urgent care. Even I could see the cut would be difficult to suture. Several stitches came out when I changed the bandages and several more the next day. The wound has not re-opened but is extremely sensitive to touch or pressure.

 

I imagine that skin is pretty thin and pulled taught. Ouch!

I figured it would be a while before you could wear pads.

Order those socks that protect the shin a bit... was on this site somewhere...just got them yesterday..
kinda itchy... won't recommend them... I have all sorts of armor that I never wear b/c of comfort.. let's see if these socks are worn....

 

This is getting better and better! Figure I can hang out, count the aforementioned beer, and now watch TV... it will be a great trip!!!

 

How come they can make a sock that stays in place all day, but put some protection in/on it and it immediately becomes uncomfortable and starts to fall down quicker than a tube-top at a frat party?

 

Clearly. But how do you feel about that?

 

Did you wear the socks on a ride? They are a bit scratchy at first and awkward to put on but the pads in them soften up as they warm up. I don't notice them once I start riding. But yeah the wool or whatever material the socks themselves are made out of is a bit scratchy too. I only use them where I expect heavy brush or with more technical descents. Perfect for palm canyon!

I better give them a try first..I like soccer socks ..long enough to cover Upto n over knees if so desired..protects against weeds.. minor scratches...

 

I would expect the same thing.
