SART sucks...

 

Sucked somuch I did it twice! Sort of...

 

Trail report: SART from Southfork to MCR is primo!!! A bit dry, but no blow outs or sloughing off anywhere. New bridges on Glass Rd. segments maybe a touch too sanitized, but probably better for most people. Be sure to ride the SART singletrack behind the post office, and not take the fire road... that's a good segment of trail that shouldn't be missed! Section past that that has the crazy-exposure and HAB rocky section is the best I've ever seen it... enjoy! Thomas Hunting Ground is similarly best ever! The little ST bonus on the other side after you come onto the fire road is great on top, needs work on the bottom. Still better than road! Fire road from there to Morton is what it is. Final Morton Peak to Redlands SART is in best shape ever, but that means it is still rough and exposed, blown out and sloughy. Switchbacks are in bad shape. But it's fine, you'll live. Hangar 24 beer is cold, burgers are great! Hope you can grab a pint before heading back up to Rocky's!!!

 

Sounds.....heavenly. Except for the beer part.

 

They have artisanal root beer and a couple of other fancy sodas... they are equal opportunity!

 

Burt had a root beer, and they fill it to the brim with no ice.

 

I feel a bit unsatisfied w my ride ride yesterday.. Strava showed that I only did 30 miles...and barely 2000 feet... It failed to record wildhorse and upper sart...so I am thinking I might have to go out there again.... Ummmm...

 

Makes sense... those electronics are totally unreliable!

 

All that matters is the ride you did in your head.

 

I have an empty growler sitting here looking all lonely... It needs a purpose.

I always run two GPS devices.

 

I specifically checked on their growler policy yesterday, and generics are fine, other brewers need a sticker covering them. These things are important to know!!!

 

Bummed I'm going to miss this one. Still not ready yet. Have a great time!!

 

Good news/Bad News.....depends on how you look at it.

Woke up this morning not feeling so hot. We only have a very small group....so I decided to reschedule this ride.

Hmmm... Day before the wife travels. I guess we won't be having date weekend!

 

Looks to be a little kinder than the WW50.

 

All of the descent, but only half of the climbing... It's a cheat day.

 

Waaaaaaayyyyy easier. All the fun, but none of the pain.

With the Cheese ride also coming up, I’ll have to get a hall pass or, like Steve said... plan on hanging out in the dog house for a bit
