    When: Saturday October 24, 2020
    Time: 6:00am
    Where: Hangar 24, Redlands
    Ride Description or Details:
WIldhorse to SART to Loch Leven to SART to Morton Peak.

We don't plan to summit Sugarloaf this year, unless there is Nugget insistence, but we do plan to drop Loch Leven and climb back up (13 miles and 1,800') before proceeding to the rest of SART through the Thomas Hunting Grounds. Morton Peak is in as well. Bring a light because last year Morton was ridden at night and it's narrow.

Estimated 63 miles and 6,100' of climbing. Down hill will be to the tune of two vertical miles or more. :)

It’s new dirt for @burt and super flowy and it’s a mellow climb similar to Wildhorse Meadows Road without the subalpine air and it’s a variation to the route and it compensates for skipping Sugarloaf and there’s no HAB and it starts and stops at Angelus Oaks with food and water and there’s more SART after it’s over.

Hey... How come these guys aren't afraid of your ride? Where's the training miles and the daunting fear of failure?

The Mike and Burt and Dante lifestyle is training. My training miles are on the commuter bike to Target for diapers and Stater Bros for milk and Don Baja's for tacos. My main concern is the peer pressure I feel to ride the Squiggle Bug since Mike routinely SMASHES these rides on his. Last year Burt expected me to fail...SUCKA! I'm bringing lights for Morton, and my hiking shoes are staying at home since we aren't bagging Sugarloaf (unless there is insistence).

    SWEET! Chicken Nugget KC!

The shuttle is reserved. We have 3 riders confirmed for the shuttle (including you). @mike and Ace are planning to meet us somewhere along Wildhorse. There's no deadline since we're good to go on the shuttle front, but the risk for non-committal is the shuttle could fill up, and there wont be a spot for additional riders.

It starts near Big Bear and ends in Redlands, so it’s a downhill ride. Plus, it’s in October, who knows what kind of shape we could get into (or out of) by then. Another “advantage”...shorter days (read: cooler). No legit reason to not join...
    :)

D, I’d put Ace in as a maybe; working on him will be a big part of my training.

Bummer timing, for sure. I can vouch that the WW50 date had been discussed and decided in PMs for a few weeks, and the 24th was determined to be both the best for all involved, as well as the most likely date of the official race should it end up happening.

If we get hauled into IMTB court, I have a PM chain showing we claimed the date long before it was posted. :p

The invite indicates shuttle. The details are irrelevant and subject to change depending on the number of riders. There is no deadline. If there are only three shuttlers, we won't need the van.

The timing conflict is kind of a bummer. I saw D's ride and joined it. Later I saw the WW gig. So it's not a decision for me, as I was not around to be in the WW conversation. I'm not adamant or too particular about any shared ride – that's not really why I join others to ride.

Really good chance I'll be able to share dirt with all of my friends here (and hopefully make new ones) this time around. I've ridden with two friends aside from my wife this entire year; one was a member here (yo, bro). So it'll be good to reconnect with all of you eventually if not sooner.

    Back to CNIDS 2020...

Yeah I ride with him a lot. He’s been riding on the road lately though and looks like he had a run-in with a Prius in Griffith Park. I’ll reach out and get the details :(
