Awesome waterbottle for the non-camelback folks

A buddy of mine just showed this to me and I thought it was pretty cool. So far it's not in production, but according to the article could be available by the end of this year.

 

We learned that principle for one of the Boy Scout merit badges and actually did it in the desert. Dig a hole, put a container in the middle, sheet of clear plastic over the hole slightly weighted to channel the condensation to the container.

Ingenious if they can make that work for a water bottle.

I didn't see any reference to the weight penalty though.

 

Pretty amazing tech. Cant wait to see the first Tatooine inspired moisture farm.

Are you talking about Stil-suits or moisture farms? I don't remember farms mentioned in the books.

 

Stillsuits. But they also had the dew traps in the sietch. Moisture farm by another name

One issue of note is that it didn't do any filtering in regards to air pollution affecting the quality of the water.
