Any Rock Climber?

I’m going to a Climbing competition this weekend with my son, he’s coaching. Then today I came upon a photo of a favorite climbing area of mine. Echo Cliffs on Boney Mountain and that got me feeling like I can’t wait for good weather to get back out there. I haven’t climbed for about 2 years now.

Indoor only for fun and fitness. I have done a few outdoor bouldering sessions and gone top roping before. While it's fun, it just takes away too much time I'd rather be riding or running, so I just don't do it much.

 

The indoors gyms are definitely more convenient time wise, no 1-2 hrs hike to get there. But sometimes hanging a hundred feet up and moving through your last pinch hold to set your last draw and flash a climb is rewarding.

 

Yeah, it is like a 4th hobby for me. I would rather run, ride, or take my motorcycle to the track first.

 

I would love to, being 1/2 hr from Yosemite, but my body won't let me.
There are obviously tons of places to climb up here.

 

Been almost 30 years ago for me. Loved it but I live too far from decent climbing areas to be able to find the time to be proficient and I’d rather ride. Sometimes when out hiking I find my hands doing various crimps on rocks along the trail and remembering…
Maybe one day before I’m too old
