2022 grip 2 fox 36 damper with Vvc

This is currently in my 2022 36 fork, purchased new in September with my orange fork. It has 24 clicks of low speed rebound. Contacted fox and they said it doesn’t affect performance. Apparently some shipped without a stop block. Clicks work properly up to the advertised 16 or so, then no effect beyond that. All other adjustments are good. They offered a new rebound assembly as they said it was superficial. I made a fuss, it was under warranty and they just sent me a new damper.
