"Forest closure to last 1 to 3 years - Pow Wow suspended until the forest reopens.

The Pow Wow will be suspended until the closure order is over. The forest closure extends from Santiago Peak, south to the North Main Divide Road/Long Canyon Road intersection. The closure would include all of the roads and trails within this area, including Coldwater Trail, Holy Jim Trail, Trabuco Trail, East and West Horsethief Trails, Los Pinos Trail, Trabuco Creek Road, Indian Truck Trail, and portions of North Main Divide Road. We have asked the Forest Service if the Joplin Trail is included in the closure and have not heard back.

We will be assisting the Forest Service in anyway possible to keep the trails in the closure area cleared of rain induced slides that may be caused by the erosion of the barren slopes. "

Well, at least I would have plenty of time to get a newer bike and get in shape for a redo.
While I like riding with @mtnbikej it would be better to be farther ahead of the sweep.

OK, kidding aside, sorry to hear that the premier event of OC mt biking is scrubbed.

Seriously – think of how many trails will be ride-able until CNF trails open again!

A little disingenuous of me. I could be really bummed if I was not in denial about what happened. But just maybe, VC/CC mongers will have a reason to bust the orange curtain, get a new perspective, expand horizons. Change, captain, is the essential pro-cess of the universe.

What about bringing the 24hrs of OC race back? Is that land off limits?

Yeah, we no longer have an agreement with that land owner.....plus I built one hell of a ball buster course to race for 24hrs.

Baker Ranch out by Blackstar. We ran a series of XC races out there in 2006/2007, along with a 12hr and a 24hr. The course was fun, but brutal. 4.25 miles / 1200'.

We did a run out there a few years before that. I remember a Western village.
