A trailhead invite in the Hello Forum, turned to ride report, then roast beef sandwiches... And some wench named wecken or something.
I don't know where to start... :wtf:

Dropping mentally at 6:45 Sunday. Mentally, cholla, stairs, Willow, then? Bronson's got a new drivetrain! Four hours, just sayin'.

But, as long as we're trying for an epic derail, this is the Kimmelweck roll... They don't last long, because the salt causes them to go soggy pretty fast. Keep them in paper and they'll go a day or two.

 

Fastest move from "Say Hello" to actual trail time. 8:39 pm Friday - introductory post in "Say Hello" --- 7:45am Saturday - meet for the ride. Less than 12 hours. Has to be a record. The ride report was germane.

The Roast Beef and now new rides posted, well, that's how we "roll" I guess.

But shouldn't the ride reports be in the Ride Report forum? I seem to remember at least a few occasions that you have pointed that out...

 

I don't think I've ever posted a ride report in the ride report forum. Mostly because my ride reports are usually just short blurbs about riding the same stuff, and usually do not contain pictures or STRAVA detail maps/screenshots.

I have noticed that some will post where they are going to ride and then include their ride report in that thread. Makes sense to me. Like the McG's are doing for their Tahoe trip, and like others did for their Oregon trips. That's kind of what I did here. In retrospect, I should have put my Tahoe ride reports under ride reports and not "I Rode My Bike Today."

The way I peruse IMTB, the forum is almost irrelevant. I just view New Posts constantly. Finding older ride reports that are buried in other reports might be tricky, thus the link in "I rode my bike today."

 

To stay with the "rides and meat" theme, when I arrived home the entire house smelled of Oso Buco and fresh pizza. My wife served me the marrow from the veal shanks, some ridiculously good Cabernet, and a slice of pizza as sweat was rolling down my face. M A R R O W. Hell yes!

 

I was curious so I looked it up..

@kioti i had it with tomato sauce. So rich, so filling. So goooooood! I usually make my own herb butter for marrow, but alas I was riding.

 

Yep... I'm from the rust belt. I was excited that the Germans thought to put some salt and seeds on a bun!

I'm thinking of a quick slog through Whiting..

 

..and back. RMFBA (rode my friend's bike again).
No marrow in sight but hopefully consumed a bit of belly fat.

 

Wednesday (9-28) early evening ride in Laguna (5ish). We can leave from my house or meet downtown. Thinking 2 hours. Bring a light just in case. Nothing too crazy -- unless you want.

Thinking: mentally/meadows, coyote, dripping cave, 5 oaks, cholla, lynx/rock it, Mathis --?

Or we could do the other side: pine crest, bomber, TnA, out to nix, reverse Camarillo, reverse lizards, boat spur to cow trail.

Or?

I think I can join you for this if you still want some company... I've only done Mentally the one time, so I'd be slow going down, and I've never done 5 Oaks, but I'm game! As far as option 2, I think I've been on most/all of it.

 

Stoked Fausty! It's safer to go from my house rather than from DT, so my house at 5? I like the little warm up to the top . . . that way our legs are loose for the first drops.

How did this thread get to the point of disregarding the OP?
