west horsethief canyon above SART

Anyone have a trail report, description of west horsethief trail? I was at the top of SART from Highway 38, taking a break when two spandex guys came down and continued on to the SART. They said they came all the way down from Big bear on some trail called west horse thief... not much info on the net..
anyone here ride it? Nice to connect w/ SART? Post Office Loop?
Any thoughts appreciate it!!!

 

Wildhorse, not West Horsethief-that one is in the OC. Nice backcountry loop with a barely rideable connector to South Fork and SART. Many people make the connection via the paved road.

Bear to South Fork sounds like a cool ride. I'd be totally up for a foray.

 

I used to do it a few times a year. Like Rossage said, I've always taken the paved road to connect them.

Route below shows me starting at Southfork, up the 38 about 5 miles, then up Wildhorse fireroad, then down Wildhorse singletrack to the highway and back to Southfork before heading to Redlands.
