Absolutely wonderful thread!!! One of the best ever here.

Our beloved rabbit, Cotton. He was a family member for 9 years but a reoccurring and seemingly incurable infection on one of his legs finally claimed his life. What a terrible day that was for us.

R.I.P. lil buddy.

 

That’s the beauty of the single speed. I get a pass just for trying the impossible climbs.

 

@mike our friend Rachel volunteers at Petsmart or Petco to help play with the kitties and clean their kennels. She loves it!

I was telling @horsebikerider I will be donating warehouse space for the Orange County German Shepard Rescue for ... 28 pallets of dog food from Blue Buffalo! They will be distributing to the local rescues who need food for the kiddos. Heck I'm not even sure if it's all for dogs but I'll find out next week. All I care about is helping out the rescue community instead of one of my snotty nosed customers ... uh, hopefully none of them are on IMTB.

Our first dog was a rescue for the oc animal shelter and she was amazing. We wanted an easy going dog and found that in the corgi / Boston terrier mix, Lucy


We waited a few years and tried a foster that we wanted to adopt but unfortunately did not work out. Ringo was a very nervous whippet that just could not be alone. After 6 months of trying, lots of adjusting schedules and trying every trick under the sun we had to say good bye. He did hundred dollars of damage and took me two days to repair all the wood and drywall damage.



Just before the New Years we adopts another whippet but this time went with a breeder. I did my research and made sure it was a responsible breeder and not a puppy mill. We wanted a whippet and to rescue those two words do not go together, far and few. We have now had Milo for about 6 weeks and have seen him double in size and is really grown into himself.

Man these stories & photos are cool. Starting to think it might be time to adopt a friend for Rusty.

 

Ringo was a pain in the ass but only when we left him alone. It did not matter if it was 2 minutes or 2 hours he was a wreck. I could not work on my bike in the garage without bringing him out. He really made us fall in love with whippets though. That is now our breed.

 

We said good-bye to Ellie Bell today after a couple weeks of battling issues.

Sorry to hear Steve. So hard to loose these family members. I'm sure she had a wonder life with your family.

I had to stop for a bit on lower Yeager the other day, and let the other guys go. It was the place my pal Morgan and I took our last big hike. He loved the mud at the spring so much. Will never forget the happy face, tail waggin' and muddy up to his belly look he had.

 

Sorry to read this. It is always a tough day to let a pet go.

. Pets arent just people too, they are better than people. Another reason trabuco canyon will always be a special place.

 

@Faust29 Steve Sorry for your family's loss. The home always feel so different /empty when our furry family members are suddenly missing, but thats OK that is how it should feel and those empty feeling will turn into fond remembrances over time.

Thank you everyone... She is missed. A lot. And now it seems that our other dog has figured out her sister isn't coming home.

 

I'm so sorry for your loss, Steve. She was a beautiful girl!! But, you can take comfort in knowing that you provided her with the best life she could have. She is romping around, care free, across the rainbow bridge will all of the other pets we have all had to say good bye too.

Really good eye. My wife is reading the Richard Blade book and is enjoying it. I finished My Riot and it was great look into 80s New York hard core.

 

Morgan always had to have something he wasn't supposed to have (and he knew what those things were). He never tore anything up, just walked around with it like it was a prize. Here he is trying to swipe the hat off a snowman a couple years ago. Miss my buddy.

 

I lost Rufus last Thursday night after a profound twelve and a half years together. He was my angel.
