New Intense 29er

The third new Intense of the year is being introduced tomorrow (August 2, 2016) - the Primer. A carbon 29er in the 130mm travel range (?). Front derailleur mount. Not sure what else. Replaces the Spider 29er, I think.

That makes the third or fourth new bike released by Intense this year - Spider 275c, ACV and now the Primer. I think the new Uzzi was reintroduced this year as well. They will also introduce a 140mm 275 and move the Tracer closer to the Nomad - leaving nothing in the coveted 150-160 range - where I reside.

It wasn't there at 11pm last night.

Looks like they are still keeping the Carbine for a longer-travel 29er option. The Primer is 115 or 130mm travel. Most Intense bikes have two mounting positions for the shock that changes the travel without changing the geometry.

 

Wow, eagle drivetrain.

 

Or Shimano XT 11-46 on the Expert build...

I was told today at The Path demo event that Intense will announce another new bike on Thursday ... something to fill the gap in between the Spider and Tracer.

 

Which path is having the demo?

Ahhhh crap. I've just been thrown into existential angst. The Recluse is here - the fourth new bike from Intense this year. Uzzi, Spider 275, Primer 29 and Recluse....


Anybody got a spare $8k layin' about? The geometry on this thing couldn't be better for me (on paper, anyway). Slightly longer ETT, longer reach, shorter chainstays, slightly slacker head angle (66° with 150mm fork), reasonable bottom bracket, steep seat tube angle...

On the other hand, the Bronson has all of that and 10mm more rear travel. Shhhh...

 

Man that color scheme is a bit... much. I like blue and gray in theory, but I'm not a fan of the red on there.

I'm a simpler man, I don't need/want flashy colors on my bikes

 

i felt like that when the bronson came a month after i bought my nomad. needless to say... i'm still in love with my nomad. that bike is way beyond my capabilities
