    $1300 - $2000 depending on options...

Well gents(& ladies) I never in a million years thought I would see this day but I’m listing my Kona for sale. Stupid ass day after day after day of rain & cabin fever had me browsing the internet(pinkbike) way too much and I bought another bike that I really don’t need but I sorta want.

Not going too deep into details since it will take a few days to show up and then I’ll know whether or not I just threw away load of money. I will say though I’ve been looking seriously at gravel bikes but I’m just not a drop bar roadie”ish”skinny tire kinda guy so I didn’t buy one of those but I did buy something stupid light without rear suspension and it is black & blue so it will match my riding gear just perfectly(wtf was I thinking?)…

So that brings me to this Kona that's now for sale. It’s a 2014 Kona Hei Hei Deluxe. Carbon frame & triangle with all xt/slx components, Not going to lie this bike has been used to the tune of 5000 miles over just about everything SoCal has to offer. It has been pictured & talked about all over this website and I’m sure many here would attest to it’s condition & trail worthiness. It’s still in great shape and I”ll guarantee you won't find a nicer used bike for this price. This is an xc geom bike but I can tell you it reaches way beyond race day. It pedals as good as any bike I’ve ridden but still offers some fun factor when pointed downhill.

A couple options on the sale…I would prefer to sell it in 100% stock configuration for $1300. Bike currently has KS dropper and Roval control carbon wheels and could sell it in that configuration for $2000. Originally retailed for $4000 but again I’m not gonna lie and I didn’t pay that.

Weight in stock configuration without pedals = 27 lbs.

Weight with carbon wheels & no dropper with xt pedals = 26.1 lbs

Weight with carbon wheels & dropper &xt pedals = 27.0 lbs

Seriously though I thought I would be buried with this bike but as the old saying goes “times change”. About a year ago I bought an Ibis Ripley and that’s now my go to bike. This Kona is a great bike and in great condition but when I walk out in the garage to ride I pick to my Ripley.

More pics upon request and you can come ride it if you want and I'd probably meet you somewhere also. No pedals or water cage. I'm 5"9" and it fit great but realistically it would probably fit someone 5'6" to 5'10". Main thing is I want to see it go to someone who will enjoy it like I did...

Nope, still got it. Haven't pushed it at all and if it doesn't sell I'll keep it for my kid who's 11 but growing like a weed and will fit it in another couple years. I really do have a hankering for a Yeti 4.5 though so I'm open...

So this afternoon I'm sitting around after riding earlier with Mikie and Nick walks up and says hey dad whats in those boxes? I tell him oh those are parts to trick out your bike to which he replies so when are you gonna put em on? I told him I wasn't putting them on and that he was. His reply was ok well lets go cause I'm bored.

Nick already knows "righty tighty lefty loosy"
    IMG_5712.jpg

80mm-50mm=you got a bike made for somebody who's 5'9" but your kid is 4'10". Problem solved. Son just remember to tighten yer stem bolts.
    IMG_5716.jpg

Now for some new grippy flat pedals. Yes thats my poor Ripley in back being held together with zip ties, long story.
    IMG_5723.jpg

Time to test it out. Seems like we have a winner.
