I had an unfortunate incident this weekend where I backed my Thule T2 into an unseen immovable object in the dark. All the side plates that it swivels on bent. I may try to hammer them back into shape or see if a fabricator can do that for me, but figured I'd check if anyone has an old T2 they can let go for cheap for an easy swap out. Condition doesn't matter much and I don't need the trays or arms. Thule doesn't seem to sell these plates alone, just the whole backbone as a unit. Shouldn't matter whether it's 1 1/4" or 2" hitch. Let me know what you've got!

    I might have a set.

when Suz got t-boned a few years ago, the lower tube got twisted, but the plates were straight.

I just gotta see if I still have it or not.

@evdog this is a good source for parts.

Not sure they sell just the replacement plates you need. If Jason doesn't work and you go fabricator route, find one that does laser cutting. Those plates could be cut in a few minutes. It'll take longer to create the dwg. file and load it to the software than it will to cut the parts. My guess any fab shop wont touch for less than $150 - $200. You can buy a full replacement "backbone" assy on the site mentioned above. Good luck either way.

Yup, bike was fine, thanks. It was rack to log pile contact. One log was sticking out more than the rest

    That would be awesome!

Thanks for the link. Plates alone aren't listed anywhere. I may call Thule direct and see if they can sell just the plates if other options don't work. Or see if a fab shop can bend mine back. Since they're steel it should be possible. That would be a lot cheaper than cutting new ones. The whole backbone is listed at $185. If I wait for a 20% off sale at REI that takes it under $150. I'm bummed I sold my old T2 now, was thinking of keeping it for parts. Only got $70 for it.

Thule is a a waste....they won’t sell small parts like that. I tried to get them to sell me just the lower part of the backbone....nope, only the complete assembly.

same thing, tried to get just the tray, but they would only sell the complete tray with adjustable arm.

    Today be your lucky day.....

Turns out I tossed out the rest of the backbone and stripped it for the parts.
