Winter Solstice and Ursids Blackstar Ride

Steve and I saw a mouse!

Not too bad at all on the first half... windy and cold on the second. Rode most of the climb with my lights off, and even with the sliver of a moon there was plenty of light to ride by. Funny how riding in the dark makes everything look flat and 2D. Couldn't tell that we were climbing at all Huddled in the lee of the foundation at Beek's, it was surreal - the wind at the ridge was literally howling. But the descent was fast and once you were a mile off the ridge the wind receded to an unpleasant memory. Just a fun ride! And we didn't see a single other person the entire ride... not even hikers.
