Never heard of it but I saw it on the map. I'm gonna go with Western patch-nosed snake and call it good.

 

Not out in the wild, but looks like an alligator lizard in our front planter

 

Those are awesome creatures.

This guy was hanging out on my windshield. At 40 mph

That's a girl mantis.

 

You should know better than to assume their preferred identity.

 

It identified as a koala bear. Asexual.

 

Saw this tarantula hawk on my ride yesterday

 

It's not an assumption, it's a scientific fact. The males and females are drastically different in body features and it's easy to see when they are side by side. However, there is only two times one will see them side by side. First, during mating, and second, while she is eating him after mating. No chance a female could cross dress as a male or vice-versa, in this case. That would be like an elephant changing to look like a mouse, or, vice-versa.

Let it be known that not only is Ssnake a snake master, he is also a fish, an insect, a bird, an amphibian, and a Black Sabbath master. Ask him any question within these boundaries and he will tell you no lies.

 

I know this is not the music thread, but… I’ll bite on Sabbath - Dio or Gillan? Deep Purple is one of my favorite bands.

Between the two I’d go with Dio. I do love Born Again, though. It’s got some great stuff but Ian was out of place there and he acknowledged that.

This guy went straight for a tree and watched me stop riding with his front paws on the trunk. Then he chilled and ambled off with many curious looks back at me. Really long fur on this one, with a blonde tint.

I left out the side door this morning for a meeting and once I pulled around to our front yard I found this guy munching on a squirrel!

it would’ve been a much better shot if I’d seen him from inside the house.

 

I saw my first javelina in fact I saw five of them. Ugly suckers but I have eaten them and made into sausage quite tasty.

 

It's a San Diego Gopher snake. Harmless to humans but great pest control.

 

I had to Google javelina.

IME it’s hard to find just one wild pig. Always cool to see a fat animal in the desert.

 

They aren’t pigs or related to them. From my understanding in the same family as a rhino and have a scent bag like a skunk.
