Who's Riding Where???

I'm with you here, as much as I hate to say it.

We are just scratching the surface of Santana Wind season and it usually goes right through Roctober.

 

Santa Ana . Santana is one of the best guitarist of our generation.

 

I have been fortunate over here in the Conejo Valley. No closure of trails, such as Space mountain, Wildwood, Sycamore Cyn, Chesebro Cyn, and Dos Vientos trails. Air quality is good and smoke free.

 

We’ve had this discussion here before.

A Santana is the “hot devil’s breath”.

Then you have the OCers who try to take all of the glory by stating that those hot winds originated in the Santa Ana Mountains.

 

East of the 15... does life even exist there!?!?!?

Hmmmm, I know where that is and I was planning to ride my bike Saturday morning somewhere nearby...

 

I’m thinking Chesebro area Saturday morning at 7:00am starting at the upper Las Virgenes trailhead

EDIT changing Saturday to backbone trail. Starting at Kanan (by the tunnel). Meet 6:45 and roll by 7:00am. Headed east from there

Sunday it’s New Millennium trail again at 7:00am starting at the intersection of Las Virgenes and Mulholland

 

Chino Hills tour.....ride til we drop.

I’m a tentative for New Millenium. Maybe I’ll bring a friend, but it depends on his plans and AQ.

 

Sorry, changing Saturday ride to backbone. Starting from Kanan. Meeting at 6:45 and rolling by 7:00am. Sounds like we are headed east to corral and back.

 

Come on down. This trail is tough but a blast to ride.
No water sources once you pass bark park so bring plenty of water if you need to hydrate a lot.

Yeah... I know it’s 11:30pm
I just finished gutting half of the new very used Cargo a Trailer.
As much time as I have spent working on our home I have spent zero time with Cathy. She don’t get out much, so I’m going to take her to Tehachapi and ride the Lehigh trails.
Prolly be there around 9:00am or so is my guess.

If you guys will put up with waiting for this slow dude on the climbs, I'd like to join tomorrow. DDD, if you're still in I'm down to carpool. I can carry 4 with bikes easily. Let me know.

 

I did an easy road ride this morning. Tomorrow Jennifer and I are riding MTB from home so she can test out her new light. Now the trick is to get her up before sunrise.

Edit: It sounds like it gets smoky in that region in the AM. Sh!t, now I’m on the fence.

Edit No. 2: OK I’m off the fence and back in the ride.

 

That would be very cool. Let’s try to roll by 7:00am from las Virgenes and Mulholland. The ride ends at the north east corner at the little dirt lot.

 

Smoke seems to be spotty, not blanketing the area, but overall air is quite clear. The trailhead is about 5 miles from my house, and was completely clear when I passed it at both 6:30 and 11:00 today. If it were me I'd roll the dice, and feel good about it. Again, grains of salt.
