You got me interested, so I looked... Zero entries after September 8th for Black Star, Maple Springs, Motorway, Harding, Joplin and San Juan. Zero.

The Luge, however, has seen light traffic throughout the closure. 17 today...

It *might* be that they are unaware they are on national forest land? It's not signed through there... The only sign at the entrance of STT is an OC parks sign.

 

I was about to mention that...no indication at the top of Modjeska Grade that it's CNF. At least, not that I remember in my oxygen-starved, semi-comatose state.

 

I'm out for tomorrow. gonna ride Sycamore Cyn and then some to get my 20-30. No smoke smell over here at all. Have fun out there

 

According to the map, the CNF starts about 100 yards onto STT. You are in the CNF until about 50 yards before the Cadillac turnoff. If you keep going on STT past Cadillac, you reenter the forest a couple hundred yards after the intersection.

Not confusing at all...

Edit: Although I always thought that Cadillac was completely outside the CNF, according to the map that is not the case. A couple of the longer stretches in the upper section wander into CNF land.

 

Since my local stuff does not involve closed areas, I will most likely be somewhere in northwest Orange County tomorrow morning. The HMB (Hobo Mud Bog) is parched, and hobos are elsewhere. For now.
