I'm trying to get Jennifer to commit to a ride tomorrow. I have a feeling she's going to wake up and say "how about we do a nice hike?" To which I'll respond "I've already hiked three times this month!"

Yes, I'm quoting myself...

The cold started Wednesday and I shook it off by yesterday. Yay immune system!

Started to set up my bike for an afternoon ride today, aired up the tires and checked the suspension. Checked all bolts (which I do every ride), lubed the chain - and - what's this, it's squealing when I back pedal. And it's stiff. What the... Ride it a little. Still squealing and protesting forward pedaling and back pedaling. It's the bottom bracket. No doubt in my mind.

I pulled the cranks and tested the BB bearings. Grinding, nearly seized. Not riding today. I'll finish the story in the appropriate thread.

 

Eh, not a bad consolation, casual rec time with the lass. But yea...bone spurs, shin splints, knee and back issues...many possible excuses.

 

Suz and I will ride this afternoon....

 

Local laps this morning. Not many and not far. Who's in? Gotta reassemble my bike first.

If I can pry myself away from the coffee, I may go do a spin to the Luge on the neglected Hightower... Odds are at 50/50 right now.

 

In my head, and I’m climbing 7k and doing it in style from my rocking chair, and dropping in on the gnar gnar with one hand on the bars and the other around my infant. Ya!

Clouds, breeze and 42 degrees – perfect for going as light as you please. Green tea infusion might wake up the weez, bolstered by me begging down on my knees.

Go ride! Or come back with a good excuse...like solidarity!!!!!!!

Old Camp/Luge starting from Cook’s tomorrow, meeting at 7:30am. Celebrating Christopher Columbus and his legacy that earmarks a day off for me every year.

Too bad, he actually did a lot of good for us. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him, good chance the same for you. Was he the first to land here? No, but there’s more to why we have Columbus Day than what we learned in first grade. Check it out, good read.

 

Hmmm, day off tomorrow and nothing really do to. Perhaps a Brown Mtn/El P ride is in order.
