Changed plan, no loading up the truck. Instead, a sweet breakfast with my weezbabe and pedal over the the Truckee-Pyramid Trail. (It now runs through to Pyramid Highway in Reno.) Runs along the Truckee River, which is pumping right now as you’d imagine.

Go get some dirt, peeps

83F / 86F in Palm Desert this Saturday/Sunday. Maybe a final PCE for the season is in order.

 

Its supposed to rain from what I have read.

 

Even better! I didn't see that in the forecast but maybe up in Pinyon Pines or Idyllwild side. It usually doesn't rain that much in Palm Canyon itself.

 

Ya that is up top 10%. @evdog I may be up for that Sat.

You guys using the shuttle service or would there be a self-shuttle plan?

 

I prefer to self shuttle. Will know later tonite if I can make it.

 

Was able to get the bike back together despite some incompatible standards issues.

Good to go now for this weekend. Only problem is higher chance of rain/thunderstorms tomorrow.

Sunday may be a better option weather-wise, though maybe not possible for some of you with mother's day. Will check back later today to see if forecast changes for Saturday.

 

Anyone riding Laguna at some point today? Was planning on doing a solo lap regardless but figured I'd throw it out there.

I just found out I can slip through Martis Peak Rd (one-lane FR, still closed to vehicles) to the big lake from basecamp on bike. Sort of a back way in. That'll be my pipeline to loads of riding on the NW side, where I didn't spend any appreciable time last year. No starting up car engines Might keep me busy this year...



I want to see what the melt looks like on those S/SE aspects tomorrow. Tahoe Rim...accept no substitutes.

 

Hoping to do my first ride from the new house tomorrow, pedal to Oaks around 8am.

 

Hah, congrats on finally breaking in your new pad, B. Sounds perfect, enjoy that coldie when you get back, and revel in the work you put into getting where you are.

Im feeling a sinus infection coming on. But I really want to ride my bike!

 

You can be miserable off your bike, or you can be less miserable on your bike.

 

I hear that pancakes (on Sunday) can cure sinus infections.

 

Or steep fire road climbs to higher elevations....

 

Throw a start time and place out there and see who you get.
