I had that for dinner last night, so I'm ready for an early ride.

Death march from home. KoKo on the horizon!

Where are you trying to get to?

 

I wanted to go somewhere other than the the Floop. Not sure Google maps could get me to a trail. Soo many places to park, and get on a trail.

 

Lots of places, Rocky... There's always the standard old Luge loop. Parking at the far end of the Cook's Corner parking lot (biker bar & restaurant). It's probably the most popular OC trail. The whole loop from Cook's is only something like 7 miles and 1200 feet. The Luge itself is a chunky descent that drops about 600 feet in 9/10 of a mile.

 

Do you guys ever go into the bar for grub and beer after a ride or would the bikers glare at you if you did?

How about some Palos Verdes? I've never been but it seems relatively close to your location.

 

I've never been in there, but I do see other riders heading in... The majority of the times that I ride the Luge I start from home. Like today!

 

ALL the time. I go there after biking... and I've even gone there in the middle of a run. Nothing like running 5 miles... slamming two chili dogs... and running back

As I like to say... my dollars are as green as anyone else's

 

Actually this is where I wanted to go!!! I mentioned it here once, no bites. I talked to the guy at the LBS, he said it was steep, maybe not so nice to a newbie. Today I was hoping for Santiago??? It's alright, the Floop kicked my ass anyway...

 

This sounds like my kind of place, all of the above!!!

 

Everything is steep in Cali (except for the FLoop?). To ride here, climbing is part of the game. There's no shame in pushing a bike when necessary so don't avoid the hills. You're still out and away from it all, so it's all good.

Santiago is steep for a long way before it finally goes back down. Think of it like this: "It hurts so good".

 

Ugh, lots of pushing today.

I'm waiting to hear if I can get the day off to do an actual recovery ride. It's tough getting ready for work and a ride at the same time.

 

Not when your priorities are straight. Just blow off work.

Finishing up my work day near TO so I brought my bike with me to work. Gonna hit Wildwood Park this afternoon.

 

The vibe I get is that it's not that kind of biker bar. It is OC, after all...not exactly a bastion of one percenters.

 

That's mildly offensive. I grew up in a biker town. Where one of the famous biker gangs was formed, in fact. Sons of Anarchy! Our town was 100% "one percenters", thank you very much.

 

Why would you be at all offended? You don't live in OC and you're not trying to be a biker.
