Looking at Strava, the Toll Road is getting a lot of use, even though it’s closed…

I don’t think they named the rider yet.

 

A little more info... And a picture of the "bike". That downtube looks a little large.

If this were a Lake Erie winter rescue, they would have left all the gear floating on the ice until it sank.

 

He lost all the contents that were in his basket..

 

It’s odd how, once you see this photo, all questions about what or how this could happen are wiped away.

Glad they hauled it out, don't want to leave eWaste in the backcountry.

And really, without the motor, do you think he would have made it there?

 

Personally, I think the basket gave him that little extra edge to make it up the mountain.
