It's quite the confusing situation locally for the Angeles National Forest since USFS trail access is thru LA County land in many spots along the front side. From what I've understood the Sheriff is telling people Chaney Trail Rd is only open to resident access now and telling anyone else to leave.

So even if USFS trails are open, getting to them from Altadena may not be advisable if LA County is closing the trail head access. I've been told Cobb Estate was taped off as well.

Honestly, I've been staying home so everything I'm saying is hearsay. I might venture out on a neighhorhood jaunt today to look at the trailheads and take some photos to share. Or I might just stay home again today and dig in the yard. Ha.

I hear you. I took a tour after my Brown KB El P run this am and this is what I saw:
JPL lot and access from Windsor is open. Upper access from Altadena was taped but torn down.
Chaney Trail was open to the top. Millard is closed
Cobb Estate has the official closure sign, but the gate is open, business as usual.
Mt Wilson Toll Rd is gated and signed closed. Same with Eaton Cyn.
Mt Wilson trail in Sierra Madre open
Chantry signed, gated, and closed, but people are still walking/riding past the gate.

The ANF is federal land but we access it using CA 2 hwy. The road can easily be closed by the CHP.
I hope there's not a repeat of last weekend. Or access could be denied.

Oh yeah, Temple City Bike Shop is open for repairs and sales. I hear they've been busy.

With more sunshine expected again this weekend, I expect the masses to be out especially when the public at large is told hiking is acceptable.

Greer will be open as based on where it is, no public entity has the authority to close it. However, it was a zoo out there last weekend (compared to normal) but not bad on the actual trails....as is the norm. I'm personally going to wait until the weekend is over before going out there, probably do a road ride this weekend.

I rode Vail last weekend. The trails felt pretty damn empty, and I actually had a lot of fun out there. I did Dam Climb twice, so how you define fun is subjective :Roflmao

I'm undecided on where I am going to run Saturday/ride Sunday. But I might be referring to this thread...

Cherry Canyon is closed at the access points and the SO is patrolling and handing out tickets. That means the same thing for Verdugo Mountain.

Ive just now officially become a roadie...

Ugh Tapewom LOL! I actually rode around Lake Young and Spring Lake Trails yesterday from my house yesterday. BDOS trails are officially closed but some of it is private property and I can ride there from home as well.

Only thing keeping things somewhat in check up here is the it has been raining which only gets the determined folks out, like myself.

I personally though have been mindful and respectful of the trail closures, even though I could probably get away with riding where trails are closed. For one, as a trail steward, it sets a good example for the community and aligns with the wishes of the managers of these lands, the folks who take care of trails we ride. If they wants us to stay off, I will do so.

I have not seen any closures but I ride the trails less traveled. Today there was a social distance sign at the entrance. I could see Wildwood main park and it looked empty, I could see Los Arboles and it looked like there were many cars parked on the street. I imagine the parking lot was closed, but I could not see any park users, it looked empty and ready to roll
    Happy empty trails

Bonelli park was open today. Lots of cars in the designated parking areas inside the park too. Only the playgrounds were taped off.

Most of the fire roads are open around here for now. That's good enough for me. Don't mean to sound selfish but after putting in a 60 plus hour workweek I need to get out and decompress.

Just checking to see if anyone has any mid-morning intel on OC trail crowd factor. I deliberately waited because typically the crowd dissipates by noon. With the world upside down, I am hoping that the crowd doesn't just continually build as the day progresses. @Danimal?

El P and the other neighboring trails in the area are open at this point. I crossed paths with Albert this morning as he was exiting and I was rolling up on my roadie. We chatted for a few mins at a safe social distance. :D
