At 140mm, it's gonna be kinda rubber-bandy with those 32mm stanchions, don't ya think?

I didn't find it all that flexy at 130mm.

Yesterday I put pedals on my sweet new ride!! Some minor tweaks and adjustments will make this beauty perfect. So stoked on my first full suspension rig and a damn good one at that.

Nice! I know a lot of guys like the plus wheels, but I’m partial to the 29er look. :inlove:

Looks aside, this thing rips! I feels SO good when it comes up on speed. Didn't spend much time in the saddle climbing up to Meadows, but it felt so good on the short ridge climbs. I will have to watch my speed with it as it just wants to GO.

Bled the front brake last night and will bleed the rear brake tonight in preparation for the Sky Park takeover Saturday! I should have bled my front brake weeks ago...nothing like a firm brake lever!

Do they sell direct? Where did you get it from? Do you use them on the front only?

Only a few changes so far on the YT Jeffsy. First was to change out the E*13 rear tire with a Maxxis Aggressor, best rear tire for trail riding IMO.

Next mod was to go with a 30 tooth oval ring. The bike came with a 32 tooth ring up front. First time on an oval ring. Hope it works as well as most advertise it!

My Guides on the Hightower were getting kinda spongy, so I bled them today. Much easier process that with the older brakes.

I think I need to bleed the SRAM Rival brakes I put on the Kona. They're still within thickness tolerance, but they just don't feel as crisp as the SLX brakes on the XTC.

Picked up my bike today. the Fox 34 Fox fork now has new uppers and internals. Pretty much a 2018 in 2014 clothing.

30x20. Spinny yes. Climbing is tough for an old man @205#. 32x22 is my normal gear. lol

Nothing wrong with 32 x 22! I ran it for over a year when I started the SS experiment, and went back to it for Vision Quest.

Edit: @Evoracer - 32x21 is my normal gearing now, but it was brutal when I first tried it. I worked it in slowly... On some rides. Eventually, I got used to it. I'm trying the same thing now with 32x20, but I'm not sure I'll get to the point that it's my every day gear. We shall see... If you go 33x22, it's half the spread from 32x22 to 32x21. I did that for awhile in between...

Ooohhh... Pretty tire. How was the clearance going with the 2.35?

Actually better clearance than with the Ardent Race 2.35. Turns out the rim isn't as out of round or true as it looked. Needs to be addressed at some point, but perfectly usable until then.

I think yesterday's tire wobble was caused by the boot covering both puncture and sidewall tear, and not going for the bead "pop" when I pumped it up. At that point I was looking for being able to ride it out of there, not perfection. The bead was probably sitting high on that point.

I agree. I need to do Trabuco someday soon, if for no other reason than to extend the range I've done across the Santa Anas. So far, 91 Freeway to Holy Jim.
