That's so nice when they can help you out on the spot... I had a similar experience this week with some front hub bearings.

Question... How long do you get out of one of the "disposable" BBs? Was that the original on the bike? Just curiousity... The Shimanos and SRAMs just don't seem to hold up on the single speed. Before I bought the Hope for the Hightower, the SRAM was still going strong long after the SS would have killed it. I still have it in the bin as a backup.

New grips. Race Face Gripler 33mm. I’ve been running the ODI Rogue for the extra thickness, but wasn’t fond of the over squishiness, and the deep grooves. These are perfect, but I hope my OCD brain will let me get over the differences in the green between the grips and the bling on the bike. I had a feeling I should have gone with black.

50 shades of green is fine. I am guilty of same. I don't dislike it.

A man after my own heart. Well done. Different, even mismatching colors = all good. Different shades of the same color = nails on a chalk board.

I walked into the garage this morning and saw the grips front and center beside the stem. I think my head will explode eventually dealing with the mismatch, so the green grips are going on the cruiser. I was thinking yesterday that I need to get the weird ergonomic grips off that thing anyway

Like @mtnbikej said, they will get dirty after the first ride and darken a bit. Give it a ride or two before you commit to removing them.

I say move 'em to the cruiser before the bar plugs look like hell. Then do a mountainbikeJ...get the grips you like as cheap as you can find despite a nasty color.:thumbsup:

It took absolutely forever to get all the colors lined up on the Chameleon- frame, stem, wheels, crank arms, etc... I have purple Santa Cruz stickers sitting on the counter, but I think it might be too over the top. :p:D

Maybe a black Sharpie to the Maxxis logos?

Don't even get me started with the yellow Maxxis letters. I feel my blood pressure rising just thinking about it.

I was going to say idiots - but this time, you were much kinder.

Maxxis yellow is a badge of honor not to be trifled with. Doesn't matter if your bike is orange, red, green or purple.

And different shades of the same color is absolutely awesome!

Only in SoCal do people care what their bikes look like. Just sayin'

Today I cleaned some stuff that always gives me trouble, and one thing I'd never cleaned. The only logical conclusion I can make here is that my mismatching green grips have magic superpowers, and therefore have to stay. Superstition trumps OCD.

I completely emptied the rear tire of sealant up on Main Divide yesterday...

If anyone says that FinishLine won't stay fluid after many months, refer them to this picture... The bike and I were both covered in jelly. :D

Eh, just leave it on the frame and skip the protection tape.

Pretty sure the Pedalhead's paint underneath the sealant looks good...

The Proflex had a rear end squeak that was driving me insane so I took the shotgun approach and did everything at once. New pivot bearings and a new bottom bracket later.......
    IMG_0698.jpg
Put the dirt tires back on and hit Whiting and the Luge yesterday, squeak is still there :bang: its much quieter than it was but I absolutely hate noisy bikes :(

I swapped on the DHR that was hanging on the wall, because I spotted this before I headed out on the Hightower. When I looked closer, there were several other smaller bubbles.

This Rekon has had a long life...

Gazed longingly at it. Gave the saddle a tender caress. Life has not allowed for a midweek ride this week, and I am the worse for it. Hopefully will get a good long one in on Sunday.
