Nah, any shop should be able to handle those repairs.

I put a new Magic Mary on the front of the Ripmo today. I'll break it in at Greer tomorrow before heading to Durango next weekend.

Bummer. There are shock service guys around that could have done it in a few days. You'd likely have to drive to them but it beats 2-3 weeks.

Really?! It’s not too late, they send it out Mon!
Meanwhile they’re replacing the drivetrain with the same components. That was my own fault for not checking the chain sooner.

You can borrow one of mine. Lemme know if you would consider a 26er. Through this network, I’m sure we can get it to you with just a little bit of coordination.

Sorry but that don’t sound right. Where was it leaking from? If it’s the main shaft it’s only a $12 kit and maybe 15 minutes work. Other leaks are more involved but even sending it to Fox wouldn’t take that long.

For Non-warranty work.....it is about 2 weeks turn around. Warranty work they get out quicker.....at least that has been my experience.

The mechanic said the O rings were shot and they don’t service shocks. This is a new to me mechanic so....
Maybe I should have Fadi look at? The grease was on the lower 1/4 of the actual shock(does that make sense?)

    Dang!

It's times like these that a spare shock will keep you from having to own two MTBs. If at least one of those shocks is a coil shock, you have less maintenance, and potentially, more reliability. Not to mention killer traction and small bump smoothing. The weez gets hers soon :)

@mtnbikej, great find on the McCoy clip!!!:thumbsup:

If that is the case, then @Voodoo Tom is correct....it is just a $12 air can service kit. Takes about 20 mins to do in the garage.

Ok sister trust me I don’t have a dog in this fight. My bikes and the attached parts don’t go to the shop unless it’s a potential warranty issue. I’m just gonna say that another one of the guys I/we ride with has not had the best of luck with the shop you’re dealing with and I know it’s gonna kill you to be without your rig. If you aren’t gonna burn major bridges I’d try the air shaft kit. I’m no pro but based on what you’re saying it’s most likely gonna fix it.

Your shifting issues sound like a bent derailleur hanger to me in which case it needs a good straightening or replacement and adjustment. When you bought your bike it most likely came with a spare hanger in the Santa Cruz goodie bag.

No bridges will be burned, I have no loyalty to TBS now that my mechanic is gone.
I’ll bring her home tomorrow and get that shock taken care of! The derailer has been adjusted already and the new drive train...we shall see if there’s been any work on that yet.
Tom...thanks my friend! I’m a little embarrassed at how much I don’t know about this shite, but through you guys, I’m learning! Thanks a ton, it really means a lot!:inlove:
