    Ohhhkay!
I got a wheelset of Irwin 29’ers for my Hightower from @shawndoh !
He said they spin with the wind and he is right! Threw the rear on and gave it a whirl and I was getting board watching it.

Tossed on some 2.4 Rekons and even pulled a @Grego and went with blue anodized valve stems.

This may amaze some, but this actually my very first 29’er.
I went from a 2012 Yeti ASR5c 26’er to the 2018 27.5 Hightower. Now my baby has new shoes. Let’s see if they hold together...

Broke another spoke (actually nipple) on my Ibis 938's mid ride. Fortunately I rode from home and Jennifer was meeting me at the trailhead. I was able to get ahold of her and have her grab my plus wheels. Wow! I forgot how much fun they are! I'm thinking I'll have the rear 938 relaced for sure but am thinking a lighter set of plus wheels would be a lot of fun.

Haha! Yesterday Jennifer asked how wide of a tire would fit on her bike. I told her 2.8 and she just looked at me. When I showed her my plus wheels today and said these are 2.8's her eyes lit up. We'll see.

    Took you long enough. :p

I like the Rekon 2.4s front and rear on the hardtail, but haven't tried them on the Hightower... I anxiously await your review.

After breaking a couple of spokes on my 29" wheels I was forced to run my 27.5+ wheels for a couple of rides. I forgot how much fun they were. Well I got excited and ordered a set of Ibis 738 wheels after having a couple of beers. I figured identical hubs would mean an easier swap between the 938's and the 738's. Well after thinking about it I remembered that I wanted to try some beefier 29" wheels so I cancelled that order and ordered another set of 938's and a Maxxis Minion DHF/Aggressor combo in 2.5WT flavor.
After a couple of rides I'm almost willing to pedal around the extra pound or so of weight. You can feel a little extra drag while pedaling but once you point it down hill all is forgiven. I would say they have 99.9% of the benefits of a 27.5+ tire but they are so much faster! Running them 16psi front and 18psi rear on 34mm internal width rims equals mega traction and bump absorption.
Now I think I'm going to forego rebuilding my rear 938 and just order another new set to run my XC tires. The wheels can't be beat for $499.

Their own. 5-6k on my current set. Last service a few weeks ago showed minimal signs of wear. I've beat the crap out of them and am just now having spoke and nipple issues.

Guessing my last post on the Whyte / Marin mashup got lost from the weekends site crash. Anyway shocks and shock mount bushings turned up so I duly swore, cursed and hit things with a hammer until the ungrateful fecking thing started to come round to my wishes. Had to macgyver a few things together, one due to me trusting a website when it said all Tara rear ends need a 42mm shock mount (hint they don't, the very first Taras need a 52mm). The other appears to have always been missing which meant the front shocks bottom mount when actually done up had side to side play in it. The factory manual shows what was there but anyway drilled out some washers and bobs your aunty. I'll get a proper 52mm shock mount in a few weeks time when the financial controller has recovered from my spending spree, shes making some disapproving sounds at the amount of ebay alerts that come through on a daily basis. Last night netted an ultimate use carbon bar, XT crankset and XT cassette. Saved myself about £80 over buying from chain reaction - the funniest bit, I bought them from chain reactions ebay store! Hopefully the new headset turns up tomorrow so I can start getting the front end back together.
    Heres how things currently stand....

The stickers will be coming off the shocks at some point, going to try and keep a very simple aluminium frame/fork finish everything else black (where practical) look.

Well it just so happened that the nipple on my wheel broke and had to of course take everything apart to fix it. I will need new sealant and the KHS rep walks up to me and gives me a bottle of sealant to try out. I will have to write a review for KHS, but to try out something and and for free is a great day for me. 9831C648-21B5-4017-AAD1-573B0D45E922.jpeg

I turned my 2016 Giant Reign into a Bronson CC. I purchased the frame (first time owning a carbon frame) and swapped all the parts I could from the Reign over. Had to get a new wheel set too since the previous set wasn't boost. Went with Race Face arc offset 30s laced on the DT 350s built by Speed Tuned Wheels. Also had a get a new dropper post so I went with a 170mm crank bros high line. As of last weekend I upgraded to GX Eagle sort of. I bought that groupo from worldwide cyclery that comes with the Sunrace 11-50 cassette that still uses the shimano freehub driver. After 5 rides I am loving this build. It's nimble, more manageable, a great climber and so damn quiet. A few pics of it below.

Since I only had a set of orange chunky monkeys hanging on the wall that really would've looked stupid I did my part in supporting my LBS today and I spent like 25 bucks there :gag:. New grips for my commuter LES were in order. I mean I bought this rig well used and have only put 5500+ miles on it myself and the damn thing has needed a chain, two sets of tires and now some grips.

I'll be as fast as Tinker now

Cool bike, and it looks like it suits you based on the videos. Perhaps I’ll see it in person this weekend?
