    So a cleaning was required.

...Which was originally in reference to @Grego 's tire choice on the single speed. The Rekon 2.2 may work well for him, but I made it all of 10 fire road miles before mine had two punctures in the center of the tread.

Thanks to the e-burner for saving me a pocketful of cash and a bunch of climbing effort.

I have same ring on McBeefy – with 9-46 you get like three grannies. Unreal climbing fully loaded, 29+, etc. This one small (minus two teeth) Smash upgrade is going to, literally, save me many, many hours of laboring on the trails this year.

Nice... I can see going with that size for Kokopelli. I recently bought some parts from @Ebruner as well. I'd rank him a AAA seller! Good stuff...

Probably a fluke or rider error.:p. Regardless I'll be testing them in the CNF this weekend. Place your bets...

The Proflex got thrown in the bath tub for a clean and then needed a rear brake adjustment. Turns out hotel side tables can make reasonable bike stands. All ready to go for the weekend, now I just need to work out where to ride!

After six years and at least a couple tubes of shoo goo, the old kicks finally gave it up after the last wet ride. New ones are comfy. Dismantled two sets of SPD pedals too, cleaned and greased the bearings. Hoping to have something to put the extra set on tomorrow :)

I tuned my daughters Cane Creek DBair Il shock tonight on her Intense Tracer. One of her complaints was the bob that came with the stock Rockshox Monarch Plus RHV shock. I increased the low speed damping by 3 clicks and walla. Much improved- and while I was at it I made the same adjustments to my Lynskey which has the same model Cane Creek shock.

Swapped out pads that were pretty worn down on the boy's bike. Preventive maintenance as they still had a touch of life left in them. Did the same on my bike hoping to reduce the warble, but these are just as bad... they make no noise on his bike, with the same SRAM Level brakes. But on my frame, it's ridiculous amount of noise/vibration. I guess I need a carbon frame!

Shimano RT81. It goes away if I sand the pads and use brake cleaner on the rotor, but comes back in an hour or two of riding. Same problem with the original SRAM rotors, which work 100% on the front.

I'm going to jinx myself... I took the original Levels from the Hightower and put them on the Tin Lizard. They have been turkey warble free so far on both bikes.

Next ride I'm going to need ear plugs and thick rubber gloves... I shouldn't have said anything. :p
