The change is my feeble attempt to stymie my desire for a new/different bike.

Did all the normal prep work before the noble canyon ride a couple weeks ago cleaning everything making sure the pivots were good new brake pads Etc. Suspension was feeling a bit soft so I did and adjustment unfortunately had maybe 5 lb too much during the ride.

Post ride...After cleaning the bike while putting it away I noticed that I had not put on the valve cap for the rear shock and I was bummed because I put it on my bike rack..... It was gone it could be anywhere between here San Diego who knows.

Look / scoured around couldn't find it but figured it dropped off on the road ...IDIOT!!!!

So after 2 weeks and several major storms and wind Etc....

I walked out this morning and there it is sitting in the center of the driveway it was not there before so somehow wind or storm or something blew it back up on my driveway.

    Life's Little Miracles.

Santa gave me Wolftooth pack pliers for Christmas. Pretty cool tool and has a few common uses.
Figure it won't get used much, but when its needed will come in handy for sure. And the bling factor can't be underestimated.

After searching for months to find the right price and size, went 1x with an XTR crank, 30T ring. Changed to 170 mm and didn't have one pedal strike today !!

I put some air in my tires on the Yeti and then went out and rode around in some nice moist dirt at Calavera which made both the Yeti and I smile. I then came home, rinsed it down and will add some air pressure to the rear shock today. I tell ya, that Yeti is spoiled.

I bled the brakes on Jennifer's Ripley. Pumped fresh fluid through then pump and tap at the reservoir until no more air bubbles. No syringe needed. Hard as a rock.

I got the road bike ready yesterday. It's been hanging on the garage wall caked in mud since I took it down Waterworks (a year ago?). I took the chain and cassette off and cleaned them... It seems to shift ok.

Now I'm looking at the rain and wet streets and wondering if I should just take the hardtail for a road ride... Skinny tires scare the hell out of me now. Eenie, meenie, miney, moe...

Well... I don't. Slick Gatorskins for the win! 28 rear and 23 front.

The skinny tire bike got the call up today... Even under tired.

I put extra wax on the chain and have been riding in some awesome conditions! Also, replaced cranks on Hightower with carbon XO1 170mm and DUB bottom bracket. Feels good.

I had to repair the right XT shifter on my wife's bike (Titus Motolite - 9 spd rear). Got it to work enough for my houseguest to ride it, but it's toast. Can't find an equivalent replacement, so I'll just slap on a Deore shifter. :(

Make sure it's not Shimona, you can't find XT 9 speed anymore unless someone has some NOS parts.

Well first I squezed the brake levers on all the bikes since I'm on rainy day schedule this week. Then I gave the HT a well deserved wash job.. Then I slapped the rarely used 29'ers on and flipped the chip. Then I stood there and thought about how silly it looked with 2.4's on it. I'm gonna try to convince myself that I prefer big wheel mode on this bike like I've already tried to do a couple times on this bike (I'm a 29er guy just not on this bike). Literature says geometry remains the same but my tape measure still says the BB raised 1/2 inch to 13-1/4" ish which may not be a bad thing. Kokopelli is coming so I need t figure this out once and for all even though I already know fluffy tires are gonna win again.

Suspension 101 for @guywhodoesntdoforums. Taught him how to service the air can on his Fox shocks, plus got to be bearer of bad news.....one air can was really scored on the inside. Now we know why it was leaking. The air can is shot.

Also did a quick service on his SID. Most just a lower leg service, but since I had dropped the lowers, I pulled the air spring, cleaned the o-rings, regreased and reassembled.

I have both shifters if you want them. The rear had a good cable in it.....just really really long.

Higher BB clearance and narrower tires for less drag on long mileage riding days (Kokopelli)? Seems like a no brainer.

I’m now rolling with no backpack. So far it’s working well. My rain jacket uses up the space in the main bag.

You’re probably right but my plus wheels are light & fun and so far on this bike the wagon wheels are just light but if they become fun and look less silly by May 9th they may get the nod.

Never quite understood why one would want a heavier bike, but a lighter back. Just a water bottle on my bike makes it handle different.

To each his own. The pendulum will swing the other way again.
