This was my second trip to Waterworks. Here's the 2nd of 3 laps.

Have you been lately? It's freaking smooth!

It's included in the Rwanda ride this year... Both for the 25 and the 50. The single track down from Vista is also included.

The last few times I've done waterworks, I've gone up it. It's actually a fun climb.

Yeah, not happy that it's included on the Rwanda ride. Hope it doesn't get trashed. It's my little piece of heavenly single track down here in Ladera.

I would think that initial drop in off Antonio is going to be a little much for some of the 25ers... As will the Vista single track. They had two helicopter rescues last year on terrain that was easier... Not sure what they're thinking including those two sections.

That event seems to draws a lot of brand new bikers. I saw at least a dozen last year who were struggling with the Chiquita Ridge section...

I don't mind deleting this post if it'll really bring too much attention to this little gem. I wouldn't post about it on MTBR :)

My tracks show I rode it but sure as *&&^& I can't remember anything about it. Guess I'll get a refresher during Rwanda.

Not exactly a destination trail... But we'll take what we can get around there.

Think I'll have to hit this up this weekend.

Haven't ridden down that was in a while as it's all fire road. But now I know better!

Yeah, it is not a destination trail and yes it's only 0.6 miles but if you go at it with 100% effort it is a real fun trail to try to KOM. After sprinting for 2+ mins you will want it to be over as you gasp for air. Many failed KOM attempts have resulted in injury at Waterworks, like the guy near the end of the video! That area is a primo spot to eat it, heck that dude almost ended up in a pond of mucky water that does not look refreshing.

It truly is a lot of fun with dips, bermed turns and jumps to make it a blast to ride. Not to mention, the scenery is really nice as you wind through all the trees and vegetation.

I was kidding about keeping it quiet. The trail sees a lot of traffic and it surprisingly stays in really nice condition all year long. I think it should be like the Luge, a one way trail because everyone is bombing down and then you see a dude going the reverse direction and it can be bad news for both riders. I have had many near misses so don't bomb down on a weekend. Bombing down during the weekdays is highly recommended.
