Heading out to south west Utah mid October never been there to ride. Any recommendations? Don't care too much for extreme exposure or super knarly trails. Locally I am good with Luge, Rock-it, Lynx, San Juan Trail, Chutes Ridgeline, stuff like that. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, expecting to ride 4-5 days.

Definitely ride the Jem trail. Gooseberry has a lot of fun stuff too.
Check out Over the Edge bike shop in Hurricane. They will have all the info you're looking for.

Many of the trail in that area are tough and rocky. Jem and the newer trails that are near Jem, like Cow Bell, are better for those that like smoother trails.

Half a day on Gooseberry and I am tried of the rocks. My friends can not get enough of that type of riding. Everyone need to go out there and see if they like it. It is a MTB playground.

Definitely stop in to Over the Edge. I think the owners name is Tristan and he is an excellent resource. Oh and if you were into BMX in the 80's by chance, his rafters are a flashback.

Zen Trail is a quick and fun loop either in St. G or right outside it. I think October could be a perfect weather month to be in Southern Utah. I think Thunder Mtn is relatively close as another ride option. If you happen to catch a heat wave, consider hopping up to Brianhead to avoid high temps. Enjoy and be safe.

Many people will say you gotta do goose but I prefer to drive a little north to Cedar City and ride around Navajo Lake and the virgin rim then a little further east to Thunder Mountain Trail outside of Bryce Canyon.

From Hurricane it is 1 1/2 hours to Navajo Lake or Thunder Mountain at that point you are just better to take a trip to Brianhead to ride. The ride from Hurricane to Thunder Mountain thru Zion is shorter put costs $50 to drive thru the park unless you wait until night then it is free unless a run into a elk or deer. That section of highway seems to have a ton of wildlife crossings.

JEM/Gould/Hurricane is a very fun loop. The goose and little creek are a fun playground couple of rides. I love guacamole with the new additation that Quinten from OTE bike shop can show you. Zen is good but short. Grafton is a great trail also.
    Love that part of UT

Go north to Beaver. Exit 109. Find the 250 miles of trails in the Tushar mountains and lose yourself in God's country.

Don't go to Over the Edge. They carry Knolly Bikes and thus, cannot be trusted!

j/k Go there - you won't regret it.
