Just went out there this weekend. Assuming I was reading the course right, you have a LONG time for the traffic to thin out before you get to Zen. I rode the waterfall and I can see how most people will walk it, hopefully I won't have traffic and can send it.

Yeah, 12.5 miles before you get to Zen. There are some quite open areas in there....but also some tight singletrack and slot canyons that can cause bottlenecks. But it's usually not a problem.

Weather outlook is promising.....high of 58* and low of 36*.......and dry.

On the 100 route, I'd imagine you avoid most of the heavy traffic with the earlier grouped start.

As far as the Waterfall, they usually have a DJ at the bottom making fun of those of us who walk... But I've also heard them tear into guys who try it and don't succeed.

Thanks, Tucker. If that were only the case. I rode 5 Deer both up and down this last weekend and it is probably the closest to chunky I can get without driving away from the AV. It was not as bad as I had expected just a little arm pump.

Expecting to have to walk the Waterfall. I don't need to hurt myself so early in the year. Just hoping to not have to walk a lot of Zen.

You're not gonna walk the waterfall. Who is this, and what happened to SS Barbie?

I have never ridden any part of the course and going into it completely blind. I am assuming I’m walking

I am in for the pre-ride of Zen. Just need to make sure that either Jason or Steve lead. So that Barby doesn't push to hard of a pace like a Frog Hollow.

@mtnbikej are you going to use that same rear tire as you did for the Frog Hollow? Was that a Ardent Race? I am thinking about picking up a Rekon Race for the rear. In April, I will be racing at the Whiskey Off-Road which I think either of those tires would be good.

Not for this one.....I decided to go back to a 2.35 Ikon out back. Really been wanting to run one again, and this was a good excuse.

I also picked up a new Bonty XR4 2.4 for the front.

From what I experienced in Prescott.....the Rekon Race would be a great tire for that course.

I agree on the Rekon Race for Prescott and a couple other local events it is the perfect tire. I was just wondering if I should pick it up before True Grit. My current rear tire is getting tired but will be fine for next weekend. Also, my worries about riding rigid should be void now. I bought a Spot Rocker frame that will be arriving this weekend so if all goes well and I can get it built, I will be good.

Looking forward to going back out and racing with the team from Frog Hollow, then getting onto some Gooseberry the day after. Got the new bike all setup, I have ridden it 2x and it feels really good. So much lighter than steel and definitely more compliant then full rigid. Should be fun.

    See you all tomorrow
