So I am leaning towards this for next year....comes up in March.

    http://truegritepic.com/

    Both 100 & 50 mile options

Looks like the 2015 course was short: 88 miles / 10,000'

The 50 mile course is half that.

It is 2 laps of the same course.

Some really fun and techy trails in the St. George area.....Zen Trail, Barrel Rolls, Bear Claw Poppy, Stucki Springs.

    So who is in?

Looks like fun. March in St George can have a very wide temp swing throughout the day.

And everyone looked so happy at the beginning.

Wow... I think Herz would be all over that, but it starts on pavement. :whistling: I think I'd be all over that if it were a lot closer. I don't foresee any long distance bike adventures in my immediate future. It will be pushing the envelope to get to the two that David mentioned above.

That 100 miler sounds awesome. I might really have to look into this one. It's pretty far and I have never ridden in Utah.

I was interested enough (in the 50) to talk to the wife about it, but it doesn't look too good. I haven't really planned out my 2016 riding yet, and I'm not sure I want to spend a weekend on this one (I only get so many weekends like that :p)

    Nod.

I've actually been looking at Zion national forest as a family camping destination (where I bring my bike) for some time. My sister lives in Denver, so that's sort of halfway between us for a nice fun family get together (a bit farther for my sister). Realistically the thing that is preventing me from pulling the trigger today is that I'm supposed to help my Mom move from CA to CO sometime around then, and I don't want to use up my family camping tolerance without knowing when exactly that trip/move is supposed to be.

I'm watching it though, that's for sure. As I do want to ride around there.

I'm on the fence between the 50 and the 100...its the week after Vail Endurance, which is the perfect training lead-in. I'll have to decide soon....

No matter what type of riding you do, southern Utah has it all. I kicked my own azz on pavement, gravel and fire roads just north of where this takes place. There's also a ton of singletrack and other goodies around there too.

Northern Utah (around Park City, and in the canyons around Salt Lake City/Provo/Ogden) ain't no slouch either.

I like to idea "training" for something this winter (now that VQ is not an option).
I'm going to try to sell it to my wife as a Vegas trip with some MTB nearby.

Good luck. Interesting though, Fatcyclist just posted a 9 person SS start list that did not include you, but did include his wife, The Hammer.
Maybe it was a different distance?
I tried but could not find a start list on the website.

There is a 100 mile race and 50 mile race.

I just checked the registered rider list and I am on the 100.
