    Hokay!
I’m riding local and doing Trail 120.
Starts with a 7 mile climb to the Frazier Mountain Towers then does some big rollers until you are staring at the Antelope Valley expanse. If it’s a clear day, it’s like WOW!
Dropping Trail 120 which is a brake burner all the way into Hungry Valley which is like a 4000 foot elevation drop! Then slog incognito along the West border of The Hungry Valley Off Road Vehicle Park to end up just above Lebec on Frazier Mountain Park Road. It’s a shuttle so need at least two vehicles.
I’m bringing a 70oz. Camelback loaded with Tailwinds and a water bottle (unless your @Faust29 , then just bring a cup of water.)

So bring it it if you want it!

Meet time at SUBWAY off Interstate 5, Frazier Mountain Park Exit @ 8:00 AM.
    Ride is approx. 23 miles.

I guess since it was my idea I should probably go...

If by the freak chance somebody else from the south would like to kill their legs and fry their brakes and then reward themselves with a frosty mug of beer you can park at my house and I’ll drive.

I would have been interested in this, but I've already scheduled "Get Back in Shape Ride #1" for tomorrow. You know... One of those rides with a really skewed fire road to single track ratio. Lots more suffering than enjoying. :p

I need to do a few of these if I'm going to keep up with you knuckleheads on the hellacious ride!

7 mile climb to start? That's a non-starter right there. I don't even want to start my day with a 2 mile climb up to the top of someplace in Murietta tomorrow but at least I'll be on singletrack which makes it tolerable.

I was gonna swap my noisy metal pads for a fresh set of resins but I think I’ll wait till after this ride. Besides this way you’ll know if I’m tailgating you.

I have sintered pads and they do squell after they get hot. I was thinking the same, switch to resin and return to stealth

Are we talking Cannell Plunge type downhill? Cuz that'll get your brakes singing nicely.

Hahaha Cannell while totally awesome is like a bunny slope. Actually I don’t think it’s all that much steeper but 120 is way looser.

You only get beat up on the Motorway if you try to crawl down it.

Uh yeah that’s about right but totally reverse. We start near Chuchupate and end in Lebec. The reverse would be nearly impossible as I’ve tried it on motos and still didn’t succeed.

So, you don't use brakes there either, then. Go it.

What, exactly, are brakes on a mountain bike for, anyway, if you don't mind my asking?

I don't exactly fly down Motorway, but I never thought of it as beating me up....more like having to concentrate for 18 minutes. It's downright fun. Some others here don't have to concentrate as long.

The Luge, on the other hand, beats me up no matter how fast/slow.

Heck, I got beat up going UP on the Motorway. I can't imagine what it's like going down for me and my arthritis.

They are for you mortals who are always yanking on those levers anytime the trail starts to trend downward.
