    May 13, 2017. This is totally a fundraiser, and is expensive, but if you're into supporting Miller's Childrens Hospital Long Beach it's a worthy cause. If you're interested it's http://www.touroflongbeach.com/rides-and-routes

    I've ridden a couple times, on a mountain bike, and once on a road bike. Pirated each time. I ride from home (since it's my normal commuting route), ride the 30-mile circuit 1.75 times, and ride home. Gives me about 75 miles and a whopping 800 feet elevation gain. I will probably do it again this year.

    I do not, of course, use the stops since I'm not paying.

    I actually signed up and paid the freight this time, for the metric century ride. I didn't want to get up early enough to do the actual Tony Cruz Century/Gran Fondo, because it started at 0630.

    I left the house at 0615. On my bike. :cool: 16 miles later I was at the start.

    On the way back I thought the wetlands would make a good pic.

    A tasty Lagunitas Hop Stoopid to finish the ride.

    Then I rode home.

    Flattest century I have ever done. Still a good time, though. Even with the 20 mph hour headwind at the end of the official metric century.

    Metric century??? HA!!

    Holy Elevation gain Batman...... :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    10' per mile.....chuggin' along pushing the biggest gear you had?

    A century is still a century.

    However....for the lack of elevation gain on this one, you will be required to attend another ride where you will redeem some of those flat miles. :sneaky:

    And this is where I add that with no elevation gain, there is no elevation loss. Which means you're pretty much pedaling the entire time.:eek:

    While not horrible, it's harder than one would think at first blush.:cool:
